Wet down a fluffy dog for wheelchair fitting pics

I just reread this vintage advice from wonderpuppy.net. She talks about how important it is to adjust a cart correctly and encourages people to contact the manufacturer and send photos when trying to get the adjustments right. She says if you have a fluffy dog, you may have to wet the coat for them ...

That is the most precious picture of that little boy hugging that giant dog.

Re: Starling 15 years old, missing toes, falls

Hi Cryllc82, The towel sounded like a good idea. Would sheepskin be similar only maybe fluffier so he has more to dig his toes into so he can turn himself back upright? It's washable. They used sheepskin for Charliebird. Here was the post about it. Hi everyone, I just found this forum and th...

Re: Pip diagnosis - Central cord syndrome

The ones I was looking at are small, like 35-40 lbs, and under $200. I haven't really started looking yet. https://www.walmart.com/ip/PowerSmart-1200W-Gas-Fuel-Generator-Portable-for-Camping-Outdoor-Low-Noise-with-AC-Outlet/3764371511 The camping size don't seem to have wheels, probably because the ...

Re: Pip diagnosis - Central cord syndrome

I think I used the wrong term because I don't know much about all this. I was thinking of the Jackery, which is called a power station, not power bank. But they're $200 and I'm not a fan of having a large lithium battery in the house. I just looked up gas generators and did not realize some of them ...

Re: Pip diagnosis - Central cord syndrome

Thanks! I'm sorry, somehow I didn't see this.  He's about 9 lbs. The thing is, the way he moves, he needs more space than a dog that can move in a controlled manner. He bounces himself out of his bed probably 5 times a week because his hind legs are overcharged. I've posted a video of h...

Resized the pic! :D He does look cozy. I'd just need a little more overhead clearance for Pip.

Re: Pip diagnosis - Central cord syndrome

Yeah, that's a good idea. If I could make some kind of blanket den for him, high enough that he doesn't risk impacting it if he does one of his springs. Last time, I covered Dolly's crate with blankets on 3 sides and most of the 4th at night. During the day she was in the kitchen and chose to stay i...

Re: Pip diagnosis - Central cord syndrome

Thinking out loud. They're warning of a major winter storm that could affect the power if there's a lot of ice and everything stays frozen for several days. I'm thinking back to when the grid here went down for 4 days, February 14-19 2021. It is interesting that Pip ended up in the shelter quadriple...

Well, stupidity strikes again

I mean my own stupidity. Monday before Christmas I took Millie (very senior yorkie mix, 98% deaf and can only see large motions) to the groomer for her nail trim. Millie can't see what's going on and has been acting up when groomed. She jerked her paw and the groomer (very experienced) accidentally ...

Non-graphic video demo of stimulating dog to defecate

She demonstrates "poop expression" with her senior Pug, and you can see what she is doing with her hands, but you do not see the actual feces. Very nicely done. The actual demonstration starts here. https://youtu.be/nyYZXFdtVDo?t=601 Here is the whole video including introductory remarks. ...

Maybe that's why he takes naps. He's adorable when he sacks out with his feet in the air! :sleepingdog: His dad is amazing, too.

Re: Pip diagnosis - Central cord syndrome

He's so funny. He's done something 3 times now. I set him in the yard so he can potty. There's a cat outside the fence he wants to bark at. He finishes pottying and begins barking. I think, "That's enough barking" and go to get him. He runs off! He's not ready to come in, he wants to bark ...
