Re: Pip diagnosis - Central cord syndrome
It's been drizzly for days so the ground is damp, and can be muddy between grass clumps. So when I take Pip out I lay him on a bar mop which is a white towel about 12" x 15", just a little bigger than he is. This afternoon it was warm enough for him to go out and bark at things and get s...

Re: Wide hygiene clip haircut for diaper cat
It looks like the channel has 134 videos of Helene going back to when she was a small kitten. It says on one she was a runt, and it says on the playlist she was born with bladder problems. I don't have time right now to watch the early ones to see what kind of bladder issues, but I'd like to know, t...

Re: Wheel chair for back legs
There's a rehab place in Los Angeles that has been in business for over 20 years and they do wheelchair fittings. It looks like a 90-min drive but you don't have to go through LA, it looks like you go around. https://www.twohandsfourpaws.com/services/wheelchair-fitting Two Hands Four Paws 2240 Feder...

Re: Need help finding a home for an incontinent kitty
I don't know what the policy is on Best Friends now. They have changed over the years and may have changed again since last contact. For years and years they took disabled animals, did a wonderful job of caring for them and promoting them and rehoming them. My little dog, Dolly, was adopted through ...

Re: Dia-Purr cat diaper with waste collection pouch
She really thought of everything when she engineered it, didn't she. Reminds me of the pouch panties theservs used to get for Dolcezza Mia, only Dia-purrs have more features with the vinyl liner and removeable insert pads. Good price! Extra inserts are a good price, too.

Re: Need help finding a home for an incontinent kitty
TL;DR You deserve to give yourself a break. Videos of diapering cats near the end. ******************* Nice job on connecting the crates. I've wanted to do that before, too. :trophy: It sounds like you are trying so hard to do everything so perfectly  that you are totally worn out. There is n...

Re: Rescued 6 wk. old kitten needs amputation
I've seen how cats love Churu on youtube. :) Right now, he can't scratch his right ear as the right leg won't bend Dolly's leg that had the FHO is her peg leg. It wouldn't bend before she had FHO surgery and it wouldn't bend after in spite of extensive professional and home PT. The surgeon suggested...

Re: Rescued 6 wk. old kitten needs amputation
Here is a picture and more description. https://handicappedpet.net/helppets/viewtopic.php?p=68901#p68901 I'm thinking how good it is your kitten will be ~8 weeks and accustomed to taking medicine by the time he has surgery. I guess your gabapentin is liquid? Are you mixing it in canned food? I was a...

Re: Rescued 6 wk. old kitten needs amputation
Glad to hear the good news! :snoopy: Dolly had to have an FHO not long after I adopted her. I feel like it has served her well. When the surgeon got in there, he discovered bone fragments that had probably been grinding in the joint for months. I would guess that was why she'd sometimes let out a li...

I have zero experience with this. Do they make a little cone collar for 6 weeks old? How do you keep such a tiny one from bothering the stitches?

Re: How do I stop this horrible feeling
I am sorry to hear of your loss. The only thing that has done me any good is to save and preserve everything I can.
I am so sorry. She was very, very fortunate to have someone who loved her so much.

LOVE those blankets!!! :hearts: Yeah, I loved those blankets, too. I used to find such cute ones at the thrift store for like $2. They cheered me up caring for him. Had a stack 2 feet high. :D Just getting caught up. I was so happy to hear that she did well while you were away. I know that feeling ...

Re: Dolly
Yeah, sometimes you just have to try really hard not to say what you think. :| Yes, with Old Dog it happened overnight. At the time I thought maybe he had got off his blanket in the kennel and laid in urine. I don't know if he was boarded in a run or in one of the stainless crates. He was 37 lbs so ...

Re: Dolly
Yeah, that may be part of it, too. I think she'd be OK with the Beechnut chicken and she should be alright with the white rice. If I offer her any of the k/d canned she gets loose stools. I can't tell how or if the Zesty Paws liver bites are affecting her. The mess may have occurred after the first ...
