Re: Starling 15 years old, missing toes, falls

:whale: Wildlife rehabbers here ask bird finders to make a doughnut nest out of a towel or something to put a sick or disabled bird in to hold a bird in the proper position for transport and beyond. Perhaps such might be useful for your bird?

Re: Pip diagnosis - Central cord syndrome

The ones I was looking at are small, like 35-40 lbs, and under $200. I haven't really started looking yet. https://www.walmart.com/ip/PowerSmart-1200W-Gas-Fuel-Generator-Portable-for-Camping-Outdoor-Low-Noise-with-AC-Outlet/3764371511 The camping size don't seem to have wheels, probably because the...

Re: Pip diagnosis - Central cord syndrome

PS Don’t most portable generators have 2 wheels & a handle, so they’re easier to move?

Re: Pip diagnosis - Central cord syndrome

One way to run a cord in/out and not have to drill holes is to use the dryer vent. Typically they’re low to the ground too.

Re: People Magazine - Rescue dog gets wheelchair and prosthetic knee braces

Nice story! It annoys me with the “prosthetic knee braces” thing, though, since protheses and braces are 2 different things! 😬 😆

Re: Pip diagnosis - Central cord syndrome

For sure, the power pack would have to match the light; power ratings are terribly important in that instance. Would a small generator be a better choice? 🤷 It’d be useful, too, for other power outages. If our extension cord doesn’t work for our electric water bowl I have a power pack at the ready, ...

Re: Pip diagnosis - Central cord syndrome

The camera has decided it MUST take a time lapse pic, so I didn’t get one. I have no idea how big Pip is, but the cooler inside is about an inch bigger in each dimension than a clodhopper size 10 or 10.5 (they’re too big & I inherited them). 😆

The cooler has clearance, but I hang the blankets over. I’ll send you another pic later.

Re: Pip diagnosis - Central cord syndrome

Hmmm. It’s too bad he won’t do blankets or body heat; my cold ones have always done either or both. I think I sent you a pic of Fartsy’s house? The one based on a big foam cooler. I can’t post the pic for size, but maybe he’d tolerate that?
