Re: Power outage, caught short

Super glue’s probably too thin to make a ball. In the house I’ve also used that foamy kids’ clay stuff to put balls on wire ends, but I doubt it’d live long outside. Hardware’s cheap & mine was too grody to bother soaking & all that. The flip side is that the newer hardware can actually be a...

Re: Power outage, caught short

PS I did the sheet thing yesterday, and we had terrible storms last night—inches of rain per hour. Sheet didn’t fall.

Re: Power outage, caught short

The sun will eat the plastic coating before anything else, but I haven’t found it a problem until it’s worn out. New hardware & wire take care of that.

I’d use tape or a glue ball on the ends if they bugged me.

Re: Power outage, caught short

If storms are on the agenda I hang bigger stuff on more than 1 line and use plenty of pins. For example, a “hot dog” folded sheet over all 4 lines and secured with 12 pins, 3 per line. I’ve seldom had anything held like that blow totally down, and it’s usually something stiff or heavy, like a pillow.

Re: Power outage, caught short

What a night!! Glad y’all didn’t get hit too hard.

Unless Kitty’s too hard to handle I’d try to get her in the hall too. Could they all go in 1 crate, or doggers in 1 & kitty in another?

Personally, I hang stuff on the lines regardless.

Re: Ramp injuries to dogs

Suitcase ramps have become very cheap, but yes, why change if you don’t have to? Hooking it like that was a good idea.

Re: Ramp injuries to dogs

A fast, portable option is the suitcase-style ramps for people in wheelchairs. They can be as low as $41, depending on length.

Re: Add a poop pocket (poop catcher) to a disposable dog diaper

:welcome: Through a hole. I used to cut a hole in Buddy’s diapers just bug enough for his tail; some come with holes and/or drawstrings and the like.

In my experience, and even seeing it on videos of spinal cord injured critters, at least most bunny hop.

Re: Rescue is needed for a kitten with Manx syndrome

She’s adorable! :hearts: I would suggest trying as many groups, etc. as you can. For example, there are several FB groups for disabled cats and sanctuaries that are at least open to handicappers, like Best Friends in Utah. I don’t know about NC in particular, but Rikki’s Refuge in Virginia might be ...

Re: Using a Mic-Key port to drain cat pee

Maybe not. I expect the holder may’ve been there to make it easier to see; I expressed Buddy alone. Some cats, on the other hand, might need a holder all the time. I wouldn’t think a Mic-Key would require more than minimal cooperation (holding still) from the cat and probably isn’t painful.
