CHICAGO: 3 CUDDLY SWEET CH KITTENS

Postby Christine » Fri Jul 13, 2012 11:23 am

Jeannie, Lindsay and Robby are very special, extremely sweet, mellow, and snugly, 10-week-old, kittens looking for loving guardians. These kittens purr as soon as they see you, and will play for hours and hours. They are very good-natured and will run towards you to play. However, the way they run towards you is what makes them different. All three kittens were born with cerebellar hypoplasia. It is guessed that their mom might have suffered from distemper before they were born. So they were left with a neurological condition most similar to cerebral palsy in humans. Jeannie, Lindsay and Robby bob their heads, fall down, roll around, and often seek out a wall to lean again to stand upright.

They walk, crawl, lay down when they eat, and have learned to use a low-sided litter box perfectly. These little ones are happy, playful and have a wonderful will to live. They are amazing kitties who will tug on your heart strings, make you smile, steal your heart, and give you all the love in the world. They are looking for patient feline-lovers who will dote on them and appreciate them as they are. While they won’t need special preparations in the home, they would need to have staircases baby-gated off so they don’t fall down and hurt themselves.

They will live normal happy, healthy lives with their special mobility and different way of doing daily kitty things. The disease is not degenerative, so the more exercise and interaction they get, the better their mobility will become. That means that these kittens can live with other gentle-natured cats, dogs and children. Dropped off at Chicago Animal Care and Control at two weeks of age, these kittens have been bottle-fed and hand-raised in loving foster homes.
They do not need to be adopted together, but they would probably enjoy the company of another cat to hang out with in their new home.

For more information and to see videos of kitties with cerebellar hypoplasia please visit: http://lifewithchcats.com/what-is-cereb ... ypoplasia/ Lindsay, Jeannie and Robby are spayed/neutered, de-wormed, up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccines, micro-chipped, and virus-tested.

To meet and possibly adopt one, two or all three, please contact their foster mom Katye at singsingkitty@yahoo.com or 815-603-1157. Their adoption fee of $125 each benefits the rescued pets of Friends of Chicago Animal Care and Control.
