FHO Yellow Lab RecoveryHi,
Rooter has a FHO done on right hip and things are going very well but we have some days that the leg is LAME. Made a video of this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ktn6EVyIhZw . Is this normal or just what would make this happen ? Would just some more time help or we pushing to much. Find it so hard to find info about how to recover. Thanks
Re: FHO Yellow Lab RecoveryHi and welcome...your dog is beautiful.
Until some of our other members with knowlege of this situation come along, here are some diaries and journals of others who have gone through it. Re: FHO Yellow Lab RecoveryThanks for the links looking them over lot of info ya it seams at times the slower we go the better.
Here is some more info on rooter and how things are going. We do lots of walking do 2 30 min walks and a short 10 min walk each day. Over the tree log makes him lift leg very good. Also play ball for 10 or more times he likes looking for the ball. Over ramps a few times a day ya dont even have to say over he just walks up and over them. We have done so many other things here are a few videos The rehab center is amost 1.5 hour drive one way so it would be UNWISE to have him car ride for 3 hours round trip and then do rehab. So have talked it over with VET'S and did a lot of web searching for ideas also. Just to day we went to a Fly ball event and Rooter got a great work out just going he is PULLING like we at a sled event with out the snow and ya cant hold him back. Tons of dog owners looked at rooter today and inless I would say he has a FHO it would go unseen. Rooter also today stood up to get some TLC on back legs all on his own. Try and go to the pet stores and let him walk around he likes to get out very much and talk about a HAM OH BOY more than goes out of his way to get a pet and ear scratch Tail will about FLY off. LOL Keeping him off stairs as much as can we just not ready for them but we can do them. Oh and the swim he will wade all day we never go to the pond before the FHO and now it is hard to get him to full out swim. After so much FHO info rooter just gets a little of all sorts of stuff.
