There are lots of dogs--all shapes and sizes--at the Rescue Center. But Kate and her mom and dad know they want Dave the moment they see him. He's small and he's cute and he's a perfect fit for the end of Kate's bed. In fact, Dave is everything a puppy could be.

But then they see old and gray and broad-as-a-table Rosy...
