Karen Anderson, who just lost AmbrrNannerDog is now facing health issues with Gabriel. Please keep her and Gabriel in your thoughts and prayers. Saw a vet yesterday, going to see another one in a few hours. He has a massive growth on his side that came out of nowhere. Not bloat (thank God) and apparently not his intestines (which I thought it was, the huge bulge) so he was sent home with a Dx of a massive lipoma that broke through his chest wall. No treatment, no special diet, nothing. I have an angel who is insisting that we get a biopsy (first vet simply did slides, no biopsy) and hopefully surgery to remove whatever it is.
I don't want to disturb her during this time, so I am posting information I am seeing from her Yahoo Group I hope Karen doesn't mind me posting this but Gabriel will have surgery tomorrow and could sure use our prayers, hugs, well-wishes, or good vibes. Please keep both of them in your thoughts this evening as well as in the morning. Remember it was a little white aussie dog, that nearly met a terrible fate at the hands of a cruel breeder, which was the inspiration for LWAR! Lila

Just got this email from her...breathing a sigh of relief... Well, yesterday I was researching liposarcoma like crazy, because it looked like that might be it. Thank GOD today, they removed the massive growth, all benign, he has a huge incision on his side, he is not doing too good right now, but i expect every day will show huge improvements. He has been so traumatized this week with all the tests, needles, sedatoin, being in a cage, having surgery, well, a lifetime of trauma that I pray he will forget before too long. Karen said he is having a rough morning. but it should get better every day. Doc says there is a huge "hole" where the growth was. The incision is up and down, thankfully, and not across. He has two layers of sutures and one of staples.

Update on Gabe: Spent the morning with the car in the shop, it broke, Gabriel and I sat in a chair outside for 2 hours and then on to the hospital where he got a great checkup. They removed 2 pounds of stuff. Staples out next weekend.
Boo....on the car....YAY for Gabriel!!
