Re: Issue with front legs sliding out
UPDATE from her regular vet
He has confirmed that she has a glenohumeral ligament tear in most likely both shoulders. Due to her age there is no option for surgery which if she was younger would be a quick 30 min procedure to get her back to new . He only recommends to tape her shoulders to immobilize them and keep her on the prednisone. Nothing for pain. Unfortunately the way he has my poor girl taped she can't walk or even really get comfortable. I can't even imagine her having to stay like this indefinitely. She is so uncomfortable. Monday I am reaching out to a rehabilitation vet hoping to get some other options for my girl. Will post an update once they see her. Please pray for my girl we need good vibes as this Mommy is feeling completely helpless in being able to help her.

Wow! I don't know anything about that condition, but rehab sounds like a smart way to go. Canine sports medicine. Maybe swimming? I tore the ligaments in my back and did months of PT. They're not 100% but it did help. The only thing is, I don't quite see how a shoulder injury would make her hind legs splay out like that. Maybe you can ask the rehab about that, too. I guess you have to use your judgment on the taping. But you thought it might be the shoulder, so from what he said, it sounds like you were right! I hope you will update when you know more. Around here we have a saying. "PT is king!"

OK, good. Sorry, it was hard to be sure what I was seeing in the video. Glad it is mainly the front for your little friend.
This is a different situation, but the video is so cute.

So cute!!!!
We had a very rough night. She could not get comfortable at all because of the tape. Definitely need to find a brace to replace the tape for support but haven’t seen any her size! She is a very very unhappy little girl atm

I think this one by Dogleggs is done custom. They provide the form. You give the measurements.

The Canadian company says they do custom, but I don't see an order form. Here is their claim on custom work.

Here is their contact page to ask.

Orthopets also does custom.

All 3 companies have been in business for many years.

I was looking at the hobble vest one looks very similar to how the dr has the tape on her so that is def worth trying! I’m hoping the vet from rehab will call tomorrow and have some input

Update the rehabilitation vet can’t get my girl in till July 18th!
After 3 days of Feona being absolutely miserable with the tape my fiancé had enough and cut it off So I made this make shift brace using a surgical recovery brace. I think it kinda helps what do you think?

Re: Issue with front legs sliding out
It doesn't look like she's sliding out as far, but it looks like she's not bearing weight on the left front. Her paw knuckles under at one point. That could be neurological or it could be she's just holding it up off the ground, I can't tell which.
Did the vet give her an exercise restriction or say to limit walking and rest her as much as possible? The 18th seems like kind of a long wait. Frustrating. I think I'd try to keep her off of it for the most part until then. I can tell she wants to go-go-go...

Yeah only short little walks just to potty. She definitely isn’t putting full weight on it and I noticed the knuckling too! Hard to tell which issue is causing it atm. Hopefully my makeshift brace will help at least till the 18th till then princess gets carried everywhere!!

Salut lily145195 !
Je comprends combien il est difficile de voir ta petite yorkie lutter ainsi. Tu as déjà exploré plusieurs bonnes options !
