LOVE those blankets!!!
Wraps probably existed in ‘97, I can’t remember, but it was so hard to find out about stuff before the internet became the juggernaut it did. Specialty vet catalogs typically had such things, but we had to find them. There weren’t as many sellers/manufacturers either.

Just getting caught up. I was so happy to hear that she did well while you were away. I know that feeling of dread leaving them alone and off their schedule. I take it your jury duty was over in one day?? Off subject: When I lived in St. Petersburg, I was called for jury duty and fortunately was not picked after spending an entire day waiting. I had no idea until the newspaper story came out (and I worked for a newspaper!!) the trial was for Santos Trafficanti, a major mob boss. Thank you, Jesus!!

Yeah, I loved those blankets, too. I used to find such cute ones at the thrift store for like $2. They cheered me up caring for him. Had a stack 2 feet high.
Yikes! Very glad you did not have to serve on that trial. Yes, they swore in a jury of 12 at about 3pm and released the rest of us so I was out of there about 3:15, got home at 4:40.Christine wrote: ↑Thu Nov 14, 2024 11:29 am Just getting caught up. Dolly has continued to improve gradually. She ate her whole dish of k/d stew today. Her kidneys are not bad, just mild issues, but I had tried it for her after being told she had early kidney trouble (before the liver diagnosis). Previously she would only eat the gravy out of it, but today she ate the meat, too. Surely that's a good sign.
I went to the vet and picked up a "replacement pill". Not the first time I've had to do that. You're supposed to give a full course on antibiotics, and we managed to ruin one dose trying to get it down her. I would think I had it all the way in the back of her throat and she would spit it out, repeat, repeat, repeat x10 till it basically dissolved in the pill popper and I had to go get another one. The vet also gave her a different liver supplement that we haven't tried yet. She isn't interested in the other 2 we tried. I'll try it tomorrow. She is also eating her w/d dry, so stools are much better. Waiting to see how all that stew affects her, but so far so good, scared to say it too loud.
