When I do Candy his bladder tends to roll, so I find it, then frame it with my fingers so as it deflates I still know where it is. This also helps to minimize rolling.

Kitties must be hard- so tiny!

Don't know for sure if it's something to get excited about but I'm hoping it's a good sign. Last night and this morning Doink tries to wag his tail!!!! He hasn't moved his tail since the accident. Last night it "wagged" 2x and 2x today More good news...got him to pee 4x yesterday 2x so far today. I also get the feeling that he's getting sick of my s*%t. Always poking and prodding. Drops down and gives one of those big "just leave me alone lady" sighs. Snapped at sister dog (Dazzee Mae) for going near his toys. His spunkiness is returning! :D

This morning we took Doink out in the yard to do his business(he will not go on the porch or in the house over a pad) Jay was holding him up, he let go and Doink stood on his own without any assistance from us! We only let him stand there for a few seconds but I thought that was a good sign. Before this he didn't even try to stand on his own. Plus he started moving one of his legs quite often. Straightens it out and pulls it up under him. We have another Dr appt this week for more xrays to check for any changes. If love can heal he should be up in no time!!! Again, I can't thank you all enough for the support and kindness you have shown towards me & Doinker. You and your pets are all in my prayers.

Hi everyone. Been wanting to post an update on Doink. Family in from out of town plus taking care of the Doinker.Busy Busy. He's still plugging away! Trying to stand on his left leg and put weight on it, tries to lift his leg when he P,s. Trying to keep him from doing it till his next Dr visit. Still having some days when he just does not want to P. He drinks plenty, takes his "P pills",whines to go out. Then we just "stand" there sniffing the air & watching squirrels.Usually get 3-4 a day. Some days only 2 big ones. Then I stress he didn't go enough. Has it only been 5 wks?!

Hey, I wonder...have you watched the video that shows helping a dog urinate that has the ability but just needs a little help?

http://www.scoutshouse.com/videos/video_bladder.html

It sounds like he's really doing pretty well...so many people here would be thrilled if their dog would urinate twice a day without help. I think that's very encouraging. :)

Hi everyone! Sorry haven't posted in awhile, spring time on the farm busy busy. But....I have the most wonderful news!!!!2 wks ago Doink stood up & walked about 2 ft. At first he only used his left leg. Now he's using the right leg. Walks a little scissor legged when he tries to hurry. Took him to the vet last week. Vet said he just doesn't believe it. Goes pee by himself. Now we can't get him to lay down! Don't ever let anyone say prayers & love don't work. Our little miracle is proof it does. I really wish the same good luck withh all your babies that we have had with our precious Doinker. Again, thank you for your concern and advice. Thought I was going to go crazy for the first 2 months. Without all of you I probably would have. Will give more updates as they come. Bless all of you & your pets. I raise Boer goats and loved the goat with his wheels!!!

Doink is still getting around on his own but...for the last 2 days he has quit using his right leg again. Vet doesn't seem concerned when I called him about it. I asked about xrays to be sure he hasn't aggravated the spinal injury or if it's an issue with the leg. Vet says it isn't neccesary. Been with him for 15 yrs but thinking about maybe a new vet. Now I'm scared to let him "walk" alot. Any opinions about maybe some sort of brace? We have been considering just going ahead with the purchase of a cart even though vet says he don't need it. Just to take him out to go for walks without putting stress on his back. He's still a little scissor legged and he stumbles. Every time he flops over my heart jumps! Have to find a way for him to have more freedom. Have a pet possum that has been Doinks buddy for 2 yrs. He sooo wants to play with trip hazard. (possums name because he's always under foot when I'm in the garden:lol: ) Thanks again for your help. Bless all of you & your babies.
