CH babies, VAHi Cathy and Denise,
Sorry this has taken a while, but here are names, pics, and descriptions of 3 out of the 5 Cerebellar Hypoplasia (CH) kittens that were rescued from the Prince William Shelter on 4/26/10. I had pics taken a few days ago of these 3 kittens, and was going to wait to photograph the other two (who are in a separate cage). But I decided to get these selected, edited, and sent ASAP to get things moving now. Pics and descriptions of the other two kittens will follow, hopefully tonight. Approximate DOB for these kittens is 03/20/10 (this was mistaken in my original log request, at pickup we thought they were younger than they really are), so they will be approximately 10 weeks old this Saturday. Generally speaking, these kittens are VERY loving, they readily purr, crave attention, love to be held, are very curious, and love wet food. They have different levels of neurological impairment; one is quite mildly impaired, two are moderately impaired, and two are pretty seriously impaired. The five kittens appeared to be very clean, fat, and healthy when we originally picked them up from the shelter, so we theorize that they were well taken care of by their mom cat right up to the time they were dumped at the shelter. It is likely that the reason they were dumped was due to their neurological issues, but we'll never know that. Ozzie - Male, orange tabby with white, one of the biggest of the lot: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v130/ ... 7558cs.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v130/ ... 7562cs.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v130/ ... 7534cs.jpg Tippy - Male, black & white tuxedo male, one of the smaller ones, also one of the most impaired: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v130/ ... 7567cs.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v130/ ... 7569cs.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v130/ ... 7570cs.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v130/ ... 7571cs.jpg PittyPat - Female, white with a small amount of black on her head, tail, and body. She is one of the most impaired, but is a total doll and loves being held and cuddled: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v130/ ... 7553cs.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v130/ ... 7552cs.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v130/ ... 49cs-1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v130/ ... 7547cs.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v130/ ... 7540cs.jpg As I said, names and pics of the other two kittens will follow by tonight hopefully; we need to give them both baths first, then I'll photograph them. Denise, thank you very much for your help with these kittens. I know you pulled out all the stops getting the word out, and I'm sorry for the delay in getting the photos done. Bev and I really appreciate all you've done already to help with these kittens, and we hope they can all be placed in the very near future. Quite frankly, they require a lot of time and effort, which takes away time we need to be spending with our other foster kittens and adults as well (not to mention our own cats). We had absolutely no idea that they were neurological kittens at the time we pulled them, but that doesn't mean that they shouldn't have a chance at a loving home like any other kitten. Let me know if you have any questions about these CH kittens; I'll work on pics of the last two and send as soon as possible. Bryce

Re: CH babies, VAI'll try emailing this afternoon; all I've gotten are these links and the update.
Re: CH babies, VAHere is the update from Bryce with link to pix. It looks like there is a very good adoption pending for 2 of them. A local family with experience with CH kitties.
-----Original Message----- From: Subject: Re: kittens with neuro problems Thanks for emailing us! Right now it looks like two of the kittens may be adopted; we have an application for them from someone who previously owned a CH cat. However, three of them are not yet spoken for; they are Nelson (the least impaired, almost normal motor function), PittyPat (moderately impaired but able to stand, walk, eat food from a bowl, use the litterbox, etc), and Tippy (the most impaired, back leg function is not great and he doesn't stand well but gets around OK and also uses the litterbox). I don't know if you saw the larger-sized pics of them; if not, here they are: Ozzie - Male, orange tabby with white, moderately impaired but able to stand, walk, uses litterbox, and eats from bowls OK, very funny and playful, one of the biggest of the lot: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v130/ ... 7558cs.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v130/ ... 7562cs.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v130/ ... 7534cs.jpg Tippy - Male, black & white tuxedo male, one of the smaller ones, very loving and sweet, he is the most impaired: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v130/ ... 7567cs.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v130/ ... 7569cs.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v130/ ... 7570cs.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v130/ ... 7571cs.jpg PittyPat - Female, white with a small amount of black on her head, tail, and body. She is moderately impaired, but still gets around fine, can stand and walk, can eat from bowls, and uses litterbox fine. She is a total doll and loves being held and cuddled: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v130/ ... 7553cs.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v130/ ... 7552cs.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v130/ ... 49cs-1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v130/ ... 7547cs.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v130/ ... 7540cs.jpg Yogi - Male black & white tuxedo, one of the biggest kittens, moderately impaired, LOVES to play with little cat balls (you can see them in the picture), very funny and playful, very active and gets around well, purrs when held: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v130/ ... 692bcs.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v130/ ... 696bcs.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v130/ ... 702bcs.jpg Nelson - Male mostly white with some small amounts of orange on head and tail, this is the least impaired of all the kittens, he can maintain balance fairly well. He's a moma's boy who cries loudly when being bathed or when he's hungry, but is also very sweet, cuddly, and readily purrs: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v130/ ... 7729cs.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v130/ ... 7722cs.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v130/ ... 7715cs.jpg You are welcome to call us to discuss anytime you wish. Our personal favorite is PittyPat who is a little doll; Nelson is very mildly impaired and very independent, though he does have some wobbliness, but Tippy is clearly the most impaired, though a sweet little boy. Take care and thanks for the inquiry! We can talk in more detail about them when you call. Bryce [#s deleted]

Re: CH babies, VAI'll see if I can get an update.
Re: CH babies, VAI am interested in possibly adopting one of the kittens if any are still available
Re: CH babies, VAI heard that at lease several of them were placed... Asking MC...
Re: CH babies, VAI can take all or any, especially Tippy, but I would have to do research into transportation because I live in NY. I have a permanet affluent home in mind fr Tippy where he would get raw organic food.
For any of them, I recommend trying Waiora brand liquid zeolite, right in their mouths (it is pretty odorless/tasteless) and/or daily fulvic acid, Optimally Organic brand, which needs dilution in non-tap water. Please write me directly at EbenezerBeaver [...at..] msn.com to know more about the CH protocol, which can work dramatically or if you are interested in my taking them for my 501(c)3 no-kill group, Cause 4 Paws, NJ. If the kittens can be gotten to Newark-area NJ by Saturday, Cause 4 Paws could get them to me here; otherwise I shall have to look into VA-to-NY direct. CH is really no problem, and these kittens look and sound (in terms of character) adorable; there should be no problem adopting them out and/or correcting their condition (some people are reluctant to cure CH because they think it is cute). Re: CH babies, VAIs Ozzie still available? I would like to adopt one of the male kittens
Re: CH babies, VALatest info...
From: <Darnot@aol.com> Date: Tue, Aug 17, 2010 at 1:46 PM Subject: VA (Fairfax): Cerebellar Hypoplasia kittens! To: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qAW-5RnPHBo Effie and Lavinia are 8 week old medium coat cutie pies rescued from PG County Animal Mgt Group. Their mom got a distemper shot before anyone realized she was pregnant and these poor babies are now wobbly. But they don't seem to care. If you see the above video they are a bit tipsy. They may regain more balance as they get older. But they urgently need homes! Please email me DIRECTLY if you can help. [PS Pitty Pat and Tippy are also STILL looking...]
