My Puppy has two broken legs....What do i do??I have a pom puppy and shoetly after i got her me neice had placed her on a couch and she had fallin off it. She broke her right front leg right above where it bends and then several weeks later my nieces are around her again and they snuck her outside and some how her left front paw got broken. The vet that i went to said that she was miserble and she was in a great deal of pain an she needed to be put to sleep. My owe opionion was different on the other hand. Bailey is very playful still and her eating habbits havnt changed and she is full of life and i feel that jus because she has to broken legs why does she have to be put to sleep....if a human has two broken leg do we put them to sleep?? The left leg i was not able to give her medical attention right away, because i couldnt afford to take her to the emergency hospital at the time. So shortly after her getting her left front paw broken she started walking on it and with the right front leg still in a splint she runs all over and dont let it slow her down a bit. The vet didnt want me to take her unless both legs were in slints and she had pain meds. but when i told them that i wouldnt beable to pay in full that day that sent me home with jus the right leg lightly wrapped and her bone is starting to form a calis but the vet was not sure if it was goin to fully heel but she was very young when the first leg got broken so i dont see why it shouldnt heel because shes a growing puppy.
Re: My Puppy has two broken legs....What do i do??Wish I still had StJudeMiracleDog's newspaper articles.
He had one front leg shot and shattered. Hips crushed by car or some catastrophic event. He was sched to be pts 4 days after I found him. He had charity sloppy surgery on hips and front leg never set, butmerely casted. He onlhy had one leg. One leg. He survived 7 wonderful, magnificent years Your pup has a lifetime of achievement. Re: My Puppy has two broken legs....What do i do??I agree with you, I wouldn't put her to sleep either! There is a loan you can get for emergency veterinary care, it has very good terms and most people are accepted. When you apply, they let you know right away if you are accepted.

Re: My Puppy has two broken legs....What do i do??You know really your brother or sister, whoever is parent to these nieces, should be paying for this if they injured your dog.
Re: My Puppy has two broken legs....What do i do??Let me tell you what St.JudeMiracleDog did. He kept a diary from my POV of the first two weeks. Day by day. I wrote for him because his writing eg was broken. I submitted to our newspaper in a diary fashion, and it was published on St.Valentine's day that year. I took photos of St.Jude to local Home Depot and they pulled together scraps of 2x2s, ply, carpet grass and built that boy a RAMP! Charged me like $3.00 for supplies and zippo for labor. We were ALL in tears!
Donations started coming in, articles were written about him and the television station came up to South Carolina to interview him. He raised all his own money. We did follow up articles after his successful recovery, thanking 2 states and 3 counties for their generous help. Contact your local humanes, ask them what they suggest you might do, and also visit www.MaranathaFarm.org. Karen & Duane Wilkins build carts free of charge to needy families. They only charge shipping, but once a local pilot flew the Freedom Wheels to Atlanta because he was headed that way. They have a waiting list as you might imagine, but maybe they can help you.
