Butterbean needs purrs!

Postby Bendy Kitty » Tue Jan 31, 2012 1:09 pm

took Butterbean to the vet as a emergency.
didn't even have my coffee first.
he has had the runs, wel llast night he puked, biut worse he was just sitting shaking, clearly painful. gave him a quick bath and ran him in.
vet hoping is infection. his abdomen is veryvery tight so hard to feel anything there.

Butterbean is home, feeling much better. he has some fluids, pain meds, antibleckotics, has had a nice fur trim to help keep him clean. they re snap tested him "just in case" which I am not real happy about but then I did say "do what you think is needed" next time i'll qualify that with "except for snap test"
but the important thing is we know what is wrong, he is feeling better and will be getting better.
now i need to get work done!

I would have to force feed it.
if it isn't kibble, it isn't food
chicken isn't food
treats aren't food
canned food isn't food
only kibble is food! tho the benefiber is ok on his kibble, and now he expects me to put it on. if i don't he looks at his food then back up at me, then at his food, then at me....
today he is MUCH less messy so I"m thinking the iams hairball is doing its thing. either that or he is goign to explode later on and I'm in for a heck of a surprise.

at least the UTI has calmed down.

Iams hairball is fixing him up.
much much MUCH better today. not the little dry turds he had, but at least it is solid poop just getting squished when the scoots through it . i don't know what it is about that food but it is like magic for a runny butt.

happy happy boy.

and happier mom

Butterbean is about 95% now. he says meds are yucky but he takes them.
hi gut is almost back to normal, close enough that he is much much cleaner and his skin has healed up. hooray.
washing the chlorhex is making a big difference. i use the oxymed shampoo first because it is great for cleaning the stuff off him. then i wash him again with chlorhex. i found it at Walmart under the name 'hibiclens' it is red instead of blue but same active ingridient. same smell. it was about $5.50 for a 4oz bottle, chepeast i"ve seen it anywhere. he is so good for his daily baths. its attention and attention is good. it is rubbing on him and warm and contact and he loves all thsoe things so it is good. he really isn't hard to please.
