Dogs are very good at hiding pain, but if he will not use the leg normally that is probably a sign that he is in pain. He may well have arthritis in his hip or knee. I'd ask your vet if you can try him on metacam for a couple of weeks - it's a painkiller and antiinflammatory. If he starts using the ...

I would go back to the vet, and ask for a referral to a specialist. They might be able to help her.
