Re: Problems with wheelchair fit/what am I doing wrong?

Thanks. I did loosen the leg rings, but I will try increasing the height too and see what happens. He's having vestibular symptoms today, so I can't do much with him until he's over this episode.

Re: Problems with wheelchair fit/what am I doing wrong?

A month and a half later and he's still doing the downward dog. Everything fits correctly now. He's just not getting the hang of this at all. I might try the front wheel attachment and see if that helps.

Re: Problems with wheelchair fit/what am I doing wrong?

Thanks nbregger. If I loosen up the leg rings, then they look like the picture that shows the incorrect way. That's the way I had it at first, and it seemed like he could walk better in it that way, but will the sagging leg rings not defeat the purpose of holding some of his weight up off his back l...

Re: Problems with wheelchair fit/what am I doing wrong?

Thanks, critters and Bobbie. Bobbie, by under-chest support do you mean the piece on the front harness that goes around the chest or the belly support strap that's looped around the frame? Critters, no, he wasn't trying to lie down. He was trying to walk and kept falling like that.

Problems with wheelchair fit/what am I doing wrong?

I've been working on this for 3 days and I still can't get it right. This is what I keep getting: shilohwheelchair1.JPG This is the fit: shilohwheelchair2.JPG This is how I have the leg rings. They sag a little. It seems like the leg rings might be where the problem is. They're holding his legs at a...

Re: Walkin' Wheels and hills

Thanks! And one more question. This is the terrain he will have to go over. The first is our driveway and the second is the street where we walk. I used the wizard to figure out the size he needs and it says Large with 12" wheels. Will the standard wheels handle this terrain or do I need the ai...

Walkin Wheels and hills

How does this wheelchair handle hills? We live on a hill, so our walking route is uphill and then downhill. Is there a risk of the cart tipping over, or injuring him going downhill? Would it be more difficult for him to go uphill with the extra weight of the wheelchair than without the chair?

Re: Chosing a wheelchair

Thank you so much, CarolC. I'll probably go with the Walkin' Wheels. In those videos it looks like it handles off road really well.

Chosing a wheelchair

Hi. I'm trying to choose the right wheelchair for my dog. Right now I'm torn between Walkin Wheels and Eddie's. Does anyone know which one is easiest to get your dog into? I have a 65 lb dog and I have nobody to help. I saw a post where someone has to use an engine hoist to get their dog into the Wa...
