Re: Not walking after amputation
She does have a wheel chair we use for walks. We have a tri level so couldn't use it inside. Due to her size (he's 95 pounds) it's hard watching her try to get up and pull her self from room to room. I agree everyone heals at their own rate but really expected her to be more mobile not less after ha...

Not walking after amputation
Has anyone had a amputation done and their dog not been able to walk (hop.) A little Hs first. She had two spinal embolisms almost a year ago. Her second left her one rear leg stiff and unable to bend. We waited 9 months and finally opted to amputate as a last ditch effort to give her a normal life ...

Re: Regaining Bladder Control
Thank you. We do realize that even though we have been told where she is today is likely all we get. I was even told urine function returning after 6 months was unlikely. Just crossing my fingers her leg releases in time so we can start back on physical therapy. And ofcourse we get home and she won'...

Re: Regaining Bladder Control
She's definetley doing both. She wears a diaper at home because she leaks and has been. But before this weekend she hasn't gone inside to potty and actually had any urine come out while she walks around. She only leaks when she is laying down. So to see her walk and pee tells me she's urinating on h...

Regaining Bladder Control
We are starting to experience bladder control. It has now been almost 6 months since her FCE. We took our first road trip even though she still has extensor Ridgity and can not been her leg. Our first morning out of town she peed a little on her own. This has been on going the past 4 days. Sometimes...

Re: Leaking Started In FCE recovery
That was my only other thought was a UTI. She did have a UTI previously. Which we treated her for and retested and it was cleared about 2 weeks ago. She never leaked during that UTI (and it was a pretty bad one.) She hasn't been on any meds for a while, so it wouldn't be anything related to meds. An...

Leaking Started In FCE recovery
We are about 10 weeks of recovery on our dog with an FCE. She also had stem cell injected to help as well and she's about 6 weeks in from her first procedure and 2 from her second. She has now started leaking (was not leaking before but would not urintae on her own.) Has anyone else experienced this...

Re: FCE and extensor rigidity (stiff leg)
I'll ask about the antispastic drugs today! Thank you. She goes in for her second stem cell injection. The reading I have done on Botox seems promising. It seemed her vets thought until the sciatic and femoral nerves come back which handle the flexion and extension function she will continue to be i...

You name it, we do it. 4 weeks ago we even tried a stem c...
