Re: Horse with arthritis in hock
I forwarded your info to some friends of mine, one is a recently retired equine practitioner the other a recently graduated vet....haven't heard back from either of them, nor my friend who has worked with various equine vets for over 20 years. I will put a bug in their ear to get a reasonable answer.

Re: Horse with arthritis in hock
What type of horse is your little mare? How old? How big (height and approx. weight)? Any idea what type of "work" she did before coming into the rescue? When were the last x-rays of her hock done? Was any blood work done to confirm an infection? Where did you move her from? How long ago? W...

Re: Where does everyone express their incontinent animals?
I use the bath tub most frequently, although I have used puppy pads...and even just held them "over" the litter box. Some of them have then tried to bury, using their front feet, while I am supporting them. Using the litter box method I have gotten some cats to "try" to go on the...

Re: right craneial cruciate ligament tear
I have had dogs with various ligament tears...and sone surgery in many cases... However I have found that even withuot surgery, acupuncture aided both with pain management and with healing. There have been various studies done that show acupuncture, properly performed, speeds healing; some surgeons ...

Saddle Thrombus not the end for a cat
:D Just in case you run in to a cat with saddle thrombus, it's not always the end. I've had a few that have not been so fortunate, however I wanted to relate this success story. In January this year (2009) one of my cats ("T"...as a kitten he was always getting into Trouble and Mr. T was w...

I got showfoot from the doggon wheels people where I got Ivan's cart...is that the same as doggon.com?
By the way, none of my dogs have liked getting their feet sprayed with the stuff, even though it works.

I'm a bit late in getting to your question. I went through a lot with my shep/lab mix a few years ago. you can see his story at: http://www.handicappedpets.com/gallery/ivan11/index.htm There are a lot of answers to your questions there. We were able to keep Ivan going well and happy for another year...

Re: Mysti ours/Surgery#2coming
I'm a bit late on following up your question about dogs living without a spleen. I had an 11 1/2 year old g. Shep mix that had his spleen removed when he had stomach torsion surgery. He lived just fine for another 4 years and his passing wasn't at all related to his lack of spleen (he was 15 1/2 yea...
