I got help from an amazing experienced local owner of an incontinent manx, so I think she's going to be all taken care of

Re: FECAL INCONTINENT KITTEN
I'm now at the vet with her poor sisters who still aren't eating. But vet didn't think the amounts of zinc were enough to be toxic, directed me to check with poison control if I wanted, which I did, they confirmed those amounts are not toxic.

Re: FECAL INCONTINENT KITTEN
She is definitely a floof :) Oh my god! She is fine, but her sisters probably licked her, and they both had noticeably decreased appetites the last two days!! They also had lower energy Saturday, but playing lots now. So hopefully they didn't get too much, but I will monitor very closely for more sy...

Re: FECAL INCONTINENT KITTEN
Thanks all! I've had 2 rescue groups let me post her on their Facebook pages (Tailless Cat Rescue - a few bites - and CWP - Cats With Paralysis and mobility issues Adoptions and Fosters) and one rescue willing to enter her into their system (Our Companions in CT) as long as she stays fostered with m...

Re: FECAL INCONTINENT KITTEN
This is so emotionally trying. I'm reaching out to all shelters/rescues/sanctuaries. One told me to reach out to breeders, so I did that too. The breeder told me to euthanize her :( and also clearly got judgy about poor breeding practices, as if any of this was intentional. Putting her down is not a...

Re: Help Needed: New incontinent cat
Another member pointed me to this thread as I recently rescued a litter of 3 girl Manx barn kittens, and one displayed fecal sphincter incontinence shortly thereafter and it's been quite a ride this past week deep diving into understanding the condition and what can and can't be done for her. I just...

Re: FECAL INCONTINENT KITTEN
Ok, she just strained to poop and produced nothing. How much Miralax do I give her??
Edit: I figured it out ok, now to try diapers

Re: FECAL INCONTINENT KITTEN
Thank you, thank you to everyone! Right now the poo is still quite soft since she's so young and just transitioned from nursing to kitten food, the goal was to move past the diarrhea phase. Her wet food is currently being supplemented with probiotics to prevent backslide to that, especially since sh...

Re: FECAL INCONTINENT KITTEN
Thank you Bendymom, She pees fine and certainly isn't constipated, but she smears poop everywhere she goes, and I'm so worried I won't be able to find a good home for her, I only foster these kittens, not looking to adopt more. She is constantly oozing out a bit of brown playdoh and she hates gettin...

New member rescuing manx barn kittens
Hello all, I originally posted in an existing thread, then figured maybe I should start my own. My friend has a farm where a colony of stray feral manx cats have taken up residence. I have been rescuing the kittens, getting them socialized, vetted and adopted (not for profit!). The latest litter of ...

Re: FECAL INCONTINENT KITTEN
I just rescued some barn kittens that are clearly Manx. One has no tail whatsoever and fecal incontinence. I'm willing to throw money at this for her, but is surgery even an option for a congenital issue?
