Re: Need some support after annpe dx
Hi Lisac1818, I don't know how many replies you will get on this new post since dogs with ANNPE tend to go on to lead normal lives and their pet parents do not stick around and read new messages. One way to possibly get more replies is to post a reply in an existing ANNPE thread. The people ...

Re: Pip diagnosis - Central cord syndrome
I've been thinking about Pip and his soy milk. Some mornings he drinks it all down and some mornings he laps a few times, stops, then may or may not repeat. It isn't 'off' or anything, tastes fine if I check it. I just realized yesterday he acts exactly like someone who just got an ice cream headach...

Re: Great PIC - cat in onesie
Footies! Looks great but the clip will be in the way if the kitty rolls over. Maybe try a diaper pin if you can find some? Super cute!

Cat treats for chronic constipation
I've never heard of this, but someone should invent it. Cat treats with Miralax or lactulose in them. Maybe with fiber. But yummy. :chef: Why isn't this on the market? Or is it? Libby is doing pretty well with her constipation, but wouldn't it be wonderful if you noticed your cat was seeming a littl...

Re: Looking for Medical Treatment Experience for IVDD in Beagles (or other breeds)
OK, here are 2 articles that may help. The second one is easier to read on mobile devices, hard to read on a desktop. Excuse the long post but I will make some comments below. https://toegrips.com/ivdd-surgery/ https://dodgerslist.com/2020/02/10/surgery-vs-conservative The decision regarding conserv...

Re: Looking for Medical Treatment Experience for IVDD in Beagles (or other breeds)
Hi Tobythebeagle727,
Can you clarify, are they thinking he might have IVDD in his neck, where he had pain in February? I have a dog who had neck surgery and can make further comments from experience, but I want to be sure I understand.

Re: New here, are there good signs for IVDD recovery?
Hi CC4PHOEBE, You didn't say, but I am assuming your Yorkie had surgery on her back and not on her neck? I would talk to the surgeon about the bed. I am not a vet, but my understanding was that after surgery, there is a period of crate rest prescribed by the surgeon, but it is not forever. Y...

Re: Pip diagnosis - Central cord syndrome
With all the hoopla, I kept forgetting to post something. When we were in the hotel, I was walking past the front desk and the receptionist stopped me and handed me a styrofoam take-out box. She said a man who had been with us in the elevator left it for the puppy. When I got up to the room and open...

Re: Pip diagnosis - Central cord syndrome
:thankyou: Glad we both are OK. Falling with him, with his neck like it is, it's a mercy he's OK. He got a good jolt being in my arms when I hit the ramp even though he wasn't dropped. I always worry after remembering how Wheely Willy's mom fell on the icy steps carrying him and they were both injur...

Pip - world traveller
Pip and I went to Missouri and back this week. He did really well. He's a good traveller. Slept in the car, mostly didn't bark too much in the hotel room. Then when we returned and I was unlocking the front door, I had a TIA (mini-stroke) on the front porch. I held onto the screen door to keep from ...

Re: Hemivertebrae
Boy, I don't know. It's confusing that she runs like the wind but falls over a lot, and seems not to be in pain when running so fast. I tend to lean toward better safe than sorry on crating, but it's a judgment call, you know her best. It wouldn't hurt to get the vet's opinion on that. When I checke...

Re: Hemivertebrae
Hi Lotte1111, :violet: What kind of dog is she if you don't mind saying? Boston terrier , Westie , Yorkie, another breed? I am not one of the people who has had a hemivertebrae dog, but some of what you describe sounds like my dog, Pip. I can see why you suspect hemivertebrae if her tail is curled w...
