Re: Miralax and lactulose

To look at the date of this thread, it's been going since 2018. Libby had to have a series of enemas the past month or two. What I think happened was she went off her usual food for a short while and I was giving her more baby food but wasn't mixing lactulose in it because I was afraid she wouldn't ...

Re: Pip diagnosis - Central cord syndrome

Wanted to note another first for Pippy. Today he was running/hopping toward the back door and he noticed something (I couldn't see what) in the yard next door and began barking while he was running. He didn't seem to have any trouble doing it whatsoever. Lately, about since he began coming and stand...

Re: Rescued cat with tail pull injury. Fecal incontinence + quality of life

Yeah, I have a stack of washable cotton quilted hospital underpads. They make a nice surface for incontinent pets to lie on and don't wrinkle as much as the disposable papery kind. If you're unsure about putting soiled bed linens in your washing machine, you might look at Lysol laundry sanitizer. It...

Re: Rescued cat with tail pull injury. Fecal incontinence + quality of life

Hi! :D Of course I read it, are you kidding?! It's exciting to hear how things are going. And this is a lot of news. Glad she is growing and putting on weight. Glad her surgery went well. Very glad about the 100% bladder control. Woohoo!!! Not surprised about being unable to pinch off. I have that a...

Re: Dolly

Hi Christine, Oh, that looks so comfy. What a nice ride for some little doggy princess. Something like that but with deeper sides might work. The seizures throw her around, which is the main reason I hold her in my arm when she has them. She'll be thrown against the side of the crate or twist ...

Re: Dolly

EDIT TO ADD: It is okay to be an hour late or an hour early, but consistent timing is important. Regular Keppra is given three times a day, and Keppra XR/ER (Extended Release) is given twice a day with food. I've been keeping to the schedule as precisely as possible. She has had seizures on 3-7 and ...

 linzkaetz!

Lilly is a lucky dog to have a family that puts so much into helping her. She may still have some surprises for you. :D Congratulations on her recovery and your 3-month anniversary tomorrow!

He did it!

:hurray: Happy dance this morning. Pip was hanging out by the cat tree while I got breakfasts ready, and I had his playpen bedding changed already because I did it while they were outside for morning potty. I gave Millie her bowl and then stood by the playpen and patted my hands together and called ...

Re: boots for knuckling dog

They remind me a little of Tammy and Teddy's custom boots, which sadly are not made any more.

Re: boots for knuckling dog

Hi Janne,

:welcome:

Crocs for dogs! :D

Do they work in locations with very hot weather, like 30C and higher? Where I live in South Texas it can reach 44C.

How are the knuckling boots different from the winter boots?

Thanks for the information.

Re: Pip diagnosis - Central cord syndrome

So he's been getting up and coming over to the playpen nearly every morning now. And he stands there, making it easier to pick him up. I haven't been able to get him to come when I pat my hands together and coax him, "Come here. Come here." That will be amazing if that ever happens. But fo...

Re: Rescued cat with tail pull injury. Fecal incontinence + quality of life

just curious if anybody has any had improvement with fecal incontinence by ceasing medicine / tail amputation. I've never heard of improvement in fecal incontinence as a result of tail amputation. I am not a vet but would think the incontinence is likely due to nerve injury from the tail pull. That...

Pip on the cat tree?

I don't know how he did this, I didn't see it happen. The picture is taken from the doorway between the livingroom and kitchen. He likes to hang out next to the cat tree while I'm getting breakfast. I usually bring him in from potty and set him in the middle of the livingroom carpet and he walks/run...
