Re: Pip diagnosis - Central cord syndrome
I'll try it if he starts doing it again. I don't know why he'll do it sometimes, then not do it. He quit doing it about the time you mentioned gabapentin. I have no idea what's going on with his neck. I assume the implants are all 6 broken. He still has the lump of glue under his chin preventing him...

Re: Pip diagnosis - Central cord syndrome
I was going through this thread again tonight. So much has happened that if I hadn't written it down, I wouldn't remember it. I had forgotten that 5 days after surgery when he was on both gabapentin and tramadol, he back flipped himself out of his bed. That might not mean it wouldn't work at a diffe...

Re: Pip diagnosis - Central cord syndrome
Do they treat spasticity in critters? They can in humans, although I’m having a brain fart on the stuff my client takes… I keep thinking about this question. I thought maybe I knew the medication you meant for humans, but it has not come to me after thinking for days. When I search online, most of ...

Crash pad for Pip
Pip has been bouncing himself out of bed a lot lately. His hind legs are sometimes too strong when he's trying to shift position in bed (a little spastic) and I'll hear a crash where he hits the wires of the dog crate next to him, and find him on the floor. So I got one of his travel beds, flipped i...

Re: Pip diagnosis - Central cord syndrome
I've got Gerber turkey baby food on hand and could try some water with baby food. May do that tomorrow if today's idea doesn't work. :thankyou: This may be a dumb idea, but I made Knox blox with 1 packet gelatine, 1/4c soy milk instead of cold water, and 3/4 boiling water. I'm not even sure it will ...

Re: Paralyzed on both right legs. (Only one side)
Hi alhy1414@gmail.com, :banner: That is really good news that her neck moves freely and she is not in pain. Yes, it is definitely possible for a dog to be paralyzed in 2 legs on the same side. It's called hemiplegia. There have been other dogs like that here. It isn't as common as being rear paralyz...

Re: Pip diagnosis - Central cord syndrome
Did you try it? Make one into a bed? I've been doing something slightly different with Pip. Sometimes, and more often lately, he won't want his Knox blox. He likes them the day they're made, not so well the second day, often turns his nose up the third day. I dump any leftovers the end of Day 3. Thi...

Re: Newbie! Needing advice re knuckling and stiff feet
Wow! It sounds like he really keeps you busy. The term "special needs" certainly fits, doesn't it. It's one of those cases where his needs are so specific that nobody else would know what to do to take care proper of him. You'd have to write a multi-page guide for someone else to take care...

Re: Issue with front legs sliding out
It doesn't look like she's sliding out as far, but it looks like she's not bearing weight on the left front. Her paw knuckles under at one point. That could be neurological or it could be she's just holding it up off the ground, I can't tell which. Did the vet give her an exercise restriction or say...

Re: Newbie! Needing advice re knuckling and stiff feet
Hi JimmyMac12, Thought of you today because another dog is needing custom support (not a greyhound, and not boots) and it reminded me of what you went through fitting Jimmy. By coincidence it was a year ago today that you first posted. Normally I don't keep track, it just worked out that way today! ...

Re: Issue with front legs sliding out
I think this one by Dogleggs is done custom. They provide the form. You give the measurements. https://www.dogleggs.com/vest-for-shoulder-stabilization/ The Canadian company says they do custom, but I don't see an order form. Here is their claim on custom work. https://animalrehab.on.ca/index.php/po...

Re: Issue with front legs sliding out
OK, good. Sorry, it was hard to be sure what I was seeing in the video. Glad it is mainly the front for your little friend.
This is a different situation, but the video is so cute.
