PIC - protective sock for cat with nerve damage to front paw

Looks like they've held it on with some kind of white tape.

Re: Pip diagnosis - Central cord syndrome

I washed the wall and we are starting a new streak. :D We just had the hottest May on record and the hottest June on record. :heat: It has been so dry here, Pip has trouble going from his side to sternal because there is no grass to dig his toes into to push himself up. The dirt is baked clay, so it...

Re: Pip diagnosis - Central cord syndrome

Pip is doing something new. He's been yawning. Not often. About as often as any dog. He started doing it maybe 4-6 weeks ago. Before that, it had not occurred to me that he never did it. Now he does. I've seen him do it maybe 4-5 times. I don't know if this means there is some improvement in his mou...

Attic Pro winch lifts 250 lbs, attaches to rafters

I think this would work for a large dog if you have the right kind of ceiling. It's around $160-$170. Looks like it adjusts for different distances between rafters.

Re: New Member help

Good deal. If you have any problem keeping the malewraps on, there are some tricks, just ask. Some dogs wiggle out of them and some don't, depending on how active they are, the type of wraps, and even body shape. You may want to put something on his skin to prevent "diaper rash". It can be...

Hi Corob15, Replying in blue... :banner: Hey guys, Last Wednesday my 5 yo french bulldog, Lou started acting funny. I took him to the vet and they did test but he seemed ok. Sent us home with some pain meds. I woke up the next morning and Lou was having trouble standing. I rushed him to the only ne...

Re: Cat won't eat, listless, but Vet can't find anything wrong; blood?

Yes, it's an opportunity for financial gain, maybe they would reason it might protect the human family, and really, from what you describe, it is serious. I mean, I'm not a vet, but to me it sounds like he quit eating and drinking, and without close attention and many days of TLC, you could have los...

Re: Cat won't eat, listless, but Vet can't find anything wrong; blood?

I'm seeing the same thing. Articles saying mice and voles could potentially be infected. So far not seeing any saying they've found them yet, but that doesn't mean they aren't out there. If that's the case, are they going to make a vaccine for cats?? https://scitechdaily.com/new-type-of-coro...

Re: Cat won't eat, listless, but Vet can't find anything wrong; blood?

Interesting. You had it a whole year ago. I suppose if you had an asymptomatic infection recently, it might be too late to do a home test? Not an expert on Covid testing. I wonder if cats lose their sense of smell and taste with Covid. If it was another cat, perhaps they were breathing (or hissing) ...

Re: Pip diagnosis - Central cord syndrome

I'm afraid I'm missing something and something might go wrong and it will be my fault that I didn't find out. I don't like that he must depend on a caregiver that much to ensure he stays hydrated and doesn't overheat, it means his life is more unsafe for him. He's strong, he can bark, run and eat. T...

Re: Cat won't eat, listless, but Vet can't find anything wrong; blood?

OMG!!! I thought of that, too, when the one vet mentioned dark lungs on the x-ray and it reminded me of the ground glass opacity in Covid patients, but when I checked the symptoms online I didn't think they matched. That is great! I've been worried about how you guys were doing, and didn't want to a...

Re: Pip diagnosis - Central cord syndrome

At 8:30 I took the dogs out and let Pip do his business(es) and run from the back of the yard to the door. After a bit I put him at the back to run to the door again. He got to the door and as soon as he stopped he began doing his breathing thing. He does not hang his tongue out to pant, he just see...

Re: Cat won't eat, listless, but Vet can't find anything wrong; blood?

The spreadsheet was just an attempt at filtering out the vast qty of words, to bare-bones essential info. Embarrassed to admit I'd no idea even that white blood cells are called Leukocytes That makes two of us. I kind of guessed Leukozyten was Leukocytes by sounding it out, but that didn't mean I k...
