Re: Help Needed: Back again: skin iritation by saddle

Hi Carol, thank you very much for your support. It is so pleasant to hear that it is normal to feel like I feel. I am sure your work with the dog was much worse and demanding than mine with Sara. I admire your effort. I work at home so that I am with Sara the whole day. I am quite sure that there is...

Re: Help Needed: Back again: skin iritation by saddle

Thanks for your answer. Maybe I put it wrong. Ofcourse she does pee outside of her saddle but if the urine stream is not strong enough it gravitates into the saddle. Ofcourse I do wash the saddle. I am afraid that you are right that I have to order a new saddle though it is not really cheap and effe...

Help Needed: Back again: skin iritation by saddle *LINK* *PI

Hi, my Sara had FCE almost two years ago. She is more or less OK. We are now quite sure that she will never learn to walk sufficiently. Now I am getting a bit desperate. The cheering effect from rescueing her and from the progress in the rehabilitation is now being replaced by tiredness of taking ca...

Re: Dogs Blue - Working cart dog - UTI

Hi Stacy, I really admire your dog for his job. Me, my husband and out two dogs live in a big city so that my dogs are quite jobùess. Sara, a GR lady, had a spinal stroke about 1,5 year ago, and is since than walking and running around in a cart from Doggon. Last September we had also problems with ...

Re: FCE - Riley Update

Hi, Sara got Prednisolon too und became very incontinent. It is quite a normal thing with it as I think. Steroids make the dog drink much more than usually and extracts lot of water from the body. Therefore it is demading on the kidney. But anyway right after the FCE it makes sense to give it to the...

Re: Just checking on all the dogs w/ FCE??

Hi, Sara had her FCE a year ago. She still improves but you can only compary by months (not weeks or even days). She still has her better and worse days for walking. Sometimes she manages to walk 350 meters by herself and sometimes only 100 meters. You can compare her development on her websites by ...

Re: how do you all handle people who think you're crazy?

I must admit that it does not happen to me. Sara is almost always laughing and the people see it and comment on it like: oh the poor dog, but look how happy it is. Therefore I can not give you any advice. I have to say that I walk with Sara only in the park and I do not take her downtown as the hard...

quad cart - help!

Hi, I have a friend who certainly needs your help. She has a 12 years old Dalmatian who is weak in both front and back legs due to a spinal compression in the neck area. The dog is able to walk slowly only with her support. I showed her Saras cart but I could not give her any specific information or...

does anyone use a cart from Dogmobile

Hi, I am thinking of buying a second cart for my Sara. We have one from Doggon and are very satisfied with it. I wanted to buy her a cart from Dogmobile because of the possibility to lie down in it. But somehow I can not imagine how it could work. As they are not really cheap I would like to find so...

Re: A Dilemma - I don't know what to do.

Hi Jenny, I think that Karens idea is perfect. Your story is really touching. I think if you contact any TV they are always attracted by touching stories - even more if they are so true as yours. I am sure after your asking for help through TV you will get many offers of help. I would certainly try ...

Re: FCE RECOVERY

Hi Patti, as I already wrote to Karol. Just be patiente and do not be discouraged by dogs that show faster progress. It really is very individual. I do not know how the vets in your country are but here (Czech Republic, Europe) they tend to be very pessimistic about prognosis of mobility. That is wh...

Re: FCE Progress or lack of

I see you are trying your best but the most important skill is to train your patience!!! 17 days may be nothing -it depends on the individual. Our Sara had shown the first very very miserable sign of improvement after 3 weeks after her FCE. She started to control her bladder after 3 months! You may ...

Re: Doggon Wheels for sale

I am sorry for your loss. But what is GSD? I have a golden retriever lady using a doggon cart and I am thinking of buying a second one (not to be afraid of what we shall do if this one gets broken and may be to leave the second one at our cottage in order not to transport it every weekend). Could yo...

Re: Hydrotherapy Help??

I do not know where you come from and whether you have winter temparatures there. Someone on the board wrote of buying some kind of swimming pool for his dog but I do not know whether it could be heated. I tried to make Sara swim in a larger bath tub but she did not like it at all and just wanted to...

Hi, my dog Sara had FCE 9 months ago. We have created her own web sites with a detailed description of her development and rehabilitation. You can find their also some videos to download where we registered her development in steps. You can see an enourmous development after starting swimming. the m...
