Found the Vet Wrap
Yep, after I wrote my question about finding it, I called our local Feed store, and they knew exactly what I was talking about. I'm going to get some this afternoon! I'll let you know how it works for us. I'm wondering.....do they ever develop callouses in places where they drag? Thanks again so muc...

Thanks everyone for your suggestions
I will definitely look for these products. I found a bottle of 3M Liquid Bandage at Petsmart, I am trying it right now, will see how this goes. Where do you get the Vet Wrap? I didn't see that at the petstore? Is it something I would get at a place like Rural King (for horses or something)? Actually...

Question re: Treating Rug Burns/scrapes
Hello everyone, I hope 2008 finds you happy and healthy! Will(or Willy as we usually call him) the kitten is approaching a year old! He is still happy and healthy, playing with the others like theres nothing wrong with him. (He is rear paralyzed, needs expressed, as a reminder) I noticed on him toda...

Thanks Mumpkees
I know EXACTLY what you mean about them having minds of their own...Will does the same thing with our 6 foot cat tree.....he climbs to the top of it if you don't watch him! Well, I'll keep doing what I'm doing then and hope for the best. I can keep him gated probably 95% of the time, the other 5 he ...

Hello everyone! It's been awhile since I've been out here. Will, my kitten, is doing good. We did go to a Neurologist up in Chicago back in August, her prognosis was basically he won't recover, he's been deep pain neg for too long. As long as we are willing to take care of him, doing what we are doi...

Re: Will
[quote="Jean"] When you mentioned that he wears a diaper is that because his bladder overflows whenever it becomes so full? If so, then that could be a problem. Thanks to all of you so much for your thoughts and responses! The diaper thing, well, it really isn't a "diaper" so muc...

How often to express
Hello everyone. Since my last posting, I have finally learned to express Will. He then wears the Simple Solutions Diaper Garment, a little denim pant with Velcro that you attach a pad to. This works well for us, at least for now. I have also done the "poop on demand" as found on this websi...

Re: Daily Life Questions
Amy, I would love to have the pattern. I will email you. I am happy to report that I have been having some success with things recently. I am able to express Will now (still not sure if I'm completely emptying the bladder, but he remains dry, which he wasn't before, so that's progress). We are tryin...

Meds for Bladder?
Hello all, My vet is going to try some drug on Will that supposedly may make him empty his bladder? I forgot to write it down, starts with a 'P', like probenzy something. Anyone heard of this, or have any experience with it? I figure its a pipe dream, as if it really worked, then I'm sure all of you...

Re: Daily Life Questions
Thanks to all for responding! So far, nobody seems to want to attack Will, except for playing normally. I had purchased some Simple Solutions XXS diapers, for animals up to 4 lbs, and although he weighs 3lbs, these are still too large. He fought me when I put it on, and he crawled out of it within 5...

Daily Life Questions
I'm just wondering how you handle "daily life" with your incontinent pets. When you go to work, or out, do you cage them? I am keeping him in a small basement bathroom for now, but am working on cleaning out a spare bedroom. I know that if he was at the Vet, he would be in a cage much smal...

Re: Need help w/ Expressing 12wk old kitten
I will keep reading and trying to figure it out. I can't believe how hard it is to figure it out! I'm afraid I'm hurting him when I'm trying. Not sure how hard to squeeze.

Re: 12 wk old kitten w/ Pelvic fracture
Oh, I'm so very sorry to hear that. I'm sure she was loved during the time she had on this earth, and that you did the very best you could for her. Thanks again for your responses. Hopefully, some others will sign on and respond too in the near future. Any and all advice is greatly appreciated. This...
