Re: Trixie

I too, have a handicapped dog that walks like he is drunk.Perhaps your dog has a mld form of cerebullar hypoplasia,as my Bandit does? He seems kind of autistic at times.Doesn't react to me,but then-it's like he suddenly realises I am there and interacts with me.He is always happy and doesn't seem to ...

Re: Sad,ancient kitty Tricks is gone....

I cried quite abit.Just missing her. Thought OKAY,Tricks wouldn't want you to do this.Get to work!(Gotta pay for the after hours vet and the cremation, after all)<so I think I'm doing okay.Sad,but I can handle it. I work at our local walmart supercenter by the way-walking down past pets and what?! A ...

Sad,ancient kitty Tricks is gone....

She was her usual self yesterday morning.Last night-I got home and she had pottied on herself and just lay in it.Got her all cleaned up and she ate her food and Nutri-Cal as usual. Spent alot of time brushing and talking to her.She hated the bath, but like the drying part of being wrapped in a towel....

Re: My ancient kitty Tricks

I dread the day I lose her also.I just keep trying, the way she does! One day, sort of one moment at a time.Everyday with her is a GIFT.I do realize that. Been telling myself, she can't keep going, but she does.So far,so good. She's been such a big part of my life, for so long.It is really kinda scary to...

Re: My ancient kitty Tricks

We are both STILL hanging in there.Poor baby, she somtimes forgets to go all the way, into the catbox.I actually saw her doing this.Finally.Sometimes,if I'm quick enough I can gently push her other leg into the catbox. She always potties facing the back of the box. That's why her table can be peed on.Sh...

Re: My ancient kitty Tricks

We really like the pine kitty litter! It can't really stick to her,so cleaning up is easier.I still hope to bathe her. We'll see how that goes. Thanks for the info about the kitty litter!!!!!

Re: Prednisone for arthritis?

Well,he gets one tablet a day now,and so far,so good! He's moving much better now.No-one can tell his age, that's for sure. He is pretty spry for an older fella.Thanks.I was and still kinda worry about possible side effects, but we will face those IF they happen. Couple of accidents, but that is a given...

Prednisone for arthritis?

My 14 year old mix,Quint seemed uncomfortable. Not so much in pain,as walking "weird",like it was difficult. He had a limp for awhile, that seems gone.Massage helps I think.
Will prednisone really help?
Also, won't he have to urinate more?????Because of the medicine????
Thanks!
