Yep, we're still here too!

Nice to see a bit about you Connie and Cricket. Sorry work is such a mess. Nidgie, Dweenger and I are still here too but not with much time. I get by and look at posts every once in awhile. We are busy at work too. Lots to do and no time to do it all. Hope things are going o.k. for all of you and he...

Re: When death comes calling, so does Oscar the cat

I think this is amazing. I would really like to know a lot more about how Oscar knows when somebody's time is over.

Re: Announcing Buddy, doxie #7!

Ohhhhh! What a handsome baby. I love him! Is there any limit on how many you can have? You keep this up and you will be the Dachshund no kill shelter of Maine! I wish I had the time, money, and family that would put up with having many more of the guys too! (Let alone the city regs that would let m...

Re: really busy

Hope you are all o.k. No, I do not do taxes. I work for an agency that does special reports at this time of the year about property assessment in our state and I make MAPS! It is really a great (fun) skill to have but makes me really busy at the same time as the taxes are happening! Stay well and he...

Re: 12 year old Scottie Paralysed in back legs

Absolutely. If the vet has approved the physio and hydro therapy that is wonderful. The T Touch is amazing stuff also so you should be in great shape as far as all of the Therapy. Just keep the faith for yourselves and your dog too. If your vet does acupuncture or does Adequan shots, you might ask a...

Crate Rest for IVDD

It is most important to confine and restrict the amount of movement a dog can do when it is 'down in the back' or has problems with it's neck. CRATE REST - CRATE REST - CRATE REST This is the most important thing you can do for your dog while it is recovering from this terrible disease. Our recomme...

Range of Motion Exercises

This information is taken from Dodger's List. It has been posted here before but every once in awhile some of us need to see it again or there or new people here that it will help. As always, if your dog has had surgery, or is in pain, you should check to see if these exercises will be o.k. Massage ...

Hi Sue, welcome to the forum. Please go a bit further down in this Forum (paralysis: nuero and IVDD) and see all the information in a thread with the topic of "What is the longest a dog has taken to regain walk ability". There is tons of discussion there about this very subject. Also, I wr...

Re: paralyzed shih-tzu - Sammie

Hi JoJo, Sorry about your Sammie. This is so stressful. You have the info about bowels and bladder. We also used a scarf for our dachshund when he needed to have a sling. It worked just fine. If you had surgery a month ago, Sammie should still be confined so he gets a chance to heal. He needs to be ...
