Re: How do you vacation?

From looking at flights in my quest to get a rescue dog that I may be adopting from another state I have found several airlines that allow your dog to be in a small carrier on theplane. The others require you to have them stored in a temp control area of cargo, which is a bit scary to me. Kristen an...

Re: How do you vacation?

What a great question! The only time I was gone since all things began with Samy I used the rehabilitation center as I knew they coudl manage him. Locally I have not been so lucky, even my vet's staff is a little nervous to manage Samy. It is a good thingk to plan for though, as you never know when ...

Re: Rescue Organizationa

Hi Karen, Thank you for taking the time to research this! I had actually been planning on adopting a little blind doxie (got to meet her on Sunday) when on Tuesday I was told that essentially the foster mom decided she could place her more quickly with a family more local to her (much to my surprise...

Rescue Organizationa

Good Morning/Afternoon! I was interested to know if any of you are familiar with the following organizations: Hearts United for Animals Indian Sanctuary in Michigan I am asking because I have been looking to adopt a mini-dachshund and have found possible candidates at both of these organizations. Ho...

Re: Back Injury Surgery Success - but with questions

Hi and welcome, I am glad to hear that she is doing so well, and can appreciate you rconcern over the distance. I wonder if your current vet group would have a recommendation of a group (plan B so to speak) in the area you are visiting. Minimally, I would locate the nearest emergency clinic just for...

Hi Ktroy, I am sorry to hear that Comet is having a problem, but yes there is hope! Let me also say that you are to be commended on your quick response and diligence in adhering to crate rest. Yes it is strict and once they start to feel better they want to go go go, but this is a ciritcal period to...

Advice on blind rescue girl

Hi All, I was hoping for some advice as I am considering adopting a little blind doxie girl. She has micropthamlmia (as she is a double dapple) I have not dealt with a blind dog before, and from the reading I have done it seems they "map" a home and are able to get around well with the oth...

Re: Skipper update and Acupuncture question

Yeah! for Skipper and a tail wag. I know that must do your heart good. Samy had accupuncture after his first surgery and it did seem to help both with pain control and neuro function. He was a bit of a difficult patient though at the time, and the doctor did accupuncture on a limited basis. I would ...
