Recurrent UTI
Looking for some ideas on how to prevent UTI's for our little girl Sary Quick backstory: She joined our family on Oct 29 2017. She was found as a stray with limited mobility in her back end, left side weaker than right. She seemed to stabilize for a time and was voiding to some degree at that point....

Re: Dog went blind from glaucoma, now circling
Thank you for the kind words. Unfortunately her condition worsened and she started having seizures last week. We did consult with a neurologist, who believes it is likely she has a brain tumor. We did start some antiseizure meds as well as a steroid trial to see if these help her. Hoping that we can...

Dog went blind from glaucoma, now circling
I am really hoping for some advice or guidance. We have a little senior bichon named Dory who joined our family in early 2017. She was an uncontrolled diabetic, very emaciated with terrible cataracts, mammary tumors and hernias. We stabilized her diabetes and did a hernia spay and excision of mammar...

Re: Can you prevent IVDD?
I wish there was something conclusive in regards to supplementation. Another suggestion that was made to me was to keep your dog active with at least a daily walk. Walking is great for a dog and not only helps to keep weight down but also keeps the muscles that support the spine strong. I have heard...

I am so sorry that your little guy is going through this..and I know how overwhlemed you must feel right now. But please know that IVDD is NOT fatal, or a death sentence. I can share with you that starting 4 years ago my little guy had his first of 2 back surgeries and later we treated another event...

Re: NEED HELP!! housetraining blind & deaf dauchshand
Hi Shayla, Did he recently become blind or has he been blind since birth? Do you have any other dogs in the home? I am thinking of "marking" your yard with another dogs urine..scent is a powerful motivator for any dog but even more so when a dogs does not have sight/hearing. Having another...

Re: Why spend time and money to save a paralyzed dog
Thank you for sharing this...it is so very touching. I have had several people ask me this during Samy's multiiple surgeries and subsequent rehab as well and in some strange way those experiences and Samy's love brought me so much closer in my relationship with God and in understanding (or trying to...

Re: FCE Video -- FIVE STARS!!!
All I can say is WOW....what an inspiration!
I am not very familiar with FCE, recently a friend's dog had and progressively got worse over the next 4 weeks...ultimately she was PTS.
Like IVDD are there variations on the progression of FCE as well???
Thanks!

Re: What to do with Oscar... (long!)
Hi Debbie, I wish I had just the right thing to suggest, it almost seems like you need a low dolly (small platform) on wheels to help Oscar stay in the position he is comfortable in and be able to move. I wonder if you contacted any of the wheelchair companies (I have previuosly spoken with Leslie a...
