Re: Haley Bop
Hello all, just wanted to give you an update on the Bop. She's out of pain, and anxious to get out of her crate! Everytime I walk by she jumps up and bounces on her front legs, wanting out. Hard to believe we still have 3 more weeks of keeping her in there, but I'm pretty firm about keeping her in i...

Haley Bop
It's been awhile since I've posted...but I do check in every month to see how everyone is doing. Unfortunately, I feel the need to post again, the Bop has re-injured her back. She had a herniated disk back in February of 2008, and recovered well. Living with a "special needs dog" for the p...

Re: Update on HaleyBop
Thanks everyone for the wonderful encouragement for the Bop. Carole, Haley has had two rounds of disimpaction from the vet...not fun! Both times were from eating a large amount of "people" food, Teriyaki chicken one time and almost a whole chicken burger and bun the second (my grand-daught...

Update on HaleyBop
Just wanted all of you to know how things are going with the Bop. It's been 1 year and 2 months since I found her down, I still remember how ineffective, scared, and heartbroken I felt. Without the support of all of you, I don't think I could have made it through the first few months... Haley is sti...

Re: Diarrhea
Thanks everyone....Dianne and Carole, if you've ever had Almond Roca....I call them Kitty Roca...I'm sure you're getting a good visual! The litter box is in a room that she has no access to, so I don't believe that's the problem. I had a Bassett that thought Kitty Roca was a great treat....ugh....so...

Re: Diarrhea
Hi Carol, thanks for replying so quickly. I know, it's just the strangest thing, even the vet is stumped. As you know because of Katie, chihuahua's are high strung, and especially since her injury she's very easily upset. So that may be it. We (the vet and I) haven't tried any antibiotics yet, becau...

Diarrhea
I have a problem that hopefully someone can help me with. My chihuahua, HaleyBop, is semi-continent of urine, and we play the poop on demand game. We've been having no problems up till a month ago, and now I can't seem to find the answer to this ongoing dilemma. Let me explain...for one day, her bow...

Re: IVDD again
Hi, I have a chihuahua that herniated a disk in Feb 2008...I opted to have the no surgery, instead choosing the steroids and strict crate rest route. HaleyBop is doing great now. She still has limited movement in her back legs, but if she walks slowly, SHE WALKS! :D Going with any speed at all, well...

Re: free bladderhealth supplement
Hi, just a quick question. HaleyBop is also leaking, little drops that start an hour or two after I take her out. Do you think these supplements would help her? All your dogs seem much larger than her, she is only a 5 lb. chihuahua. Can you give a dog as small as her those pills? Where did you find ...

Re: scared cupid may come home today
Hello, and Welcome! I found this site to be such a ray of hope in an otherwise extremely stressful and scary time...and 7 months post injury I still check in here once a day! I too have a 3 year old chihuahua, HaleyBop. She herniated her disk while I was at work one Sunday, I came home to find her d...

Re: Need Help with the Bop!
I guess the better word would be "evacuate". Express is used also, that's what my vet said when she taught me. Poop on demand. Thanks so much for all your wonderful ideas and tips. If no better tomorrow, the Bop and I are heading for the vet to check things out. Take care, all of you.

Need Help with the Bop!
Hello all, it's been awhile since I've posted, but I check here every day and keep up-to-date on the comings and goings of all of you. HaleyBop has been doing so wonderful the past few months, it's now been 6 months post injury. She "wonky-walks" around, actually taking steps if she moves ...

Re: PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!
:heartswelcome: I was in your exact shoes 4 months ago...scared, not knowing what to do next, overwhelmed, but yet, full of love for my little dog. You CAN do this! It is an adjustment, but my little Bop runs around happy as can be, with very limited use of her rear legs. She is semi urine continent...

Re: need encouragment for 18 month maltese
Judy: I've tried the PetSmart xxsmall diapers, and the little denim cover.....waaay to big! So far, the only diaper that fits our super small ones is the pattern that Amy sent me (that she made for Brooklyn). I remember trying to make those store bought diapers fit....like Mike and you, I laughed ti...
