Waffles

NJ_004.jpg It's been a very long time since I have posted here so many of you don't know me but for those of you that do, it is with a very heavy heart that I share the sad news that my dear, sweet, pit bull "Waffles" passed away Wednesday. Waffles was 14 years old. Waffles was a remarkab...

Re: I have lost what cannot be replaced. .

Dear Dayna, I am so sorry for your loss of Nola. I don’t think there is anything that I or anyone else could say that will lesson your intense grief over the loss of your beloved dog. Know that most of us are all too familiar with the pain that you are going through. There is nothing like the hearta...

Re: FCE

Hi Sean, I was catheterizing Waffles for the first year after his spinal cord surgery. His bladder was so tight it was just impossible for me to do it and I'm a pretty strong person. I would catheterize Waffles 2 times a day. He was on a preventative antibiotic for the whole year. Of course you have...

Re: Indigos Pupdates.

Hi Katie, My name is Beth. I discovered this discussion board 5 ½ years ago after my pitbull Waffles suffered a ruptured disk. Waffles had emergency surgery but never regained the ability to use his back legs. Waffles is a dog that has suffered terrible abuse at the hands of humans. He was rescued b...

I used to catheter my dog Waffles twice a day for a year before going to all expressing. I bought my catheteres from the vet. They were a thin white poly-something material and they were re-useable. I purchased a solution called cold sterile. The catheters came in a long tube and I had two tubes. I ...

I have a pitbull mix that has been paralysed for 3 years from a ruptured disk. He uses a cart and gets around just like any other dog. Everyone here has given you great advice. The one thing I can really resond to is what your vet said about the strong will of a pit. My pitbull (Waffles) is a living...

Re: Overwhelmed by urine

The best product I have ever used for cat urine is something called "anti-icky-poo" http://www.mistermax.com/ It is very expensive but has saved a chair and a mattress back when I had a cat that I had a problem with. It is one of those enzyme products that Carol was talking about. I first ...

Cosmo

Sadly, one of my special needs cats died today. Cosmo was a handsome black and white cat who fought cardiomyopathy for 3 years. The last 6 months he has been in heart failure and doing remarkably well on 4 different meds. He was really hanging on with the heart failure but suddenly this morning he c...

Re: Took my Jack for a VAS related amputation today.

Hi, I am so sorry about Jack's VAS. My 14 year old cat Speck died over the summer 2 days after her amputation for a fibrosarcoma tumor. Apparently she had an underlying heart condition that had not been detected and the surgery was just too much for her. At that time I came across a very helpful gro...

Re: Our 13 Yr Old Golden Can't Get Up

Pete,

I agree with Cindi, get Abe to the vet as soon as possible especially if he still is not urinating. Once you have a diagnosis there are lots of us here that can help you. Please keep us posted.

Dear Barbara, I am very sorry to hear about Tuxedo. Boy, three cats dying so close together, that is hard. I also have two old cats both with cardiomyopathy. One is in heart failure right now so I know that feeling of who is next. I don't blame you for wanting to take a break from all the boards, it...

Re: Help with Hershey's Eddie's Wheels Cart

Hi Shani, I am glad Hershey is doing well. Those are very good photos of him in his cart. I have some thoughts since Waffles also has an Eddie's cart. The first thing is you should contact Leslie at Eddie's and send her the photos. I had some questions in the beginning regarding fit and they were ve...

Re: cat amputation - support/advice?

There is a yahoo support group for people who have cats with vaccination related sarcomas. Although this is not your cats situation most of the people on this group have experienced amputation to rid their cat of this terrible cancer. There are a lot of good articles and posts on this site about amp...
