Have you considered using a cart to help him get around? This site is full of examples.

Re: Life with Betsy
I gave insulin injections twice per day for years and eventually began home blood glucose testing and am currently giving daily fluids to two cats. My vet used to accept used needles and syringes in a plastic container for free, but then started charging $10 for about a month's worth. Then the count...

Re: How Does Your Vet Do a Urinalysis?
I was also told that it is necessary in order to get a sterile sample that has not traveled through the urethra and come in contact with skin and fur and debris. My vet did it on my 21-year-old cat, while I watched. She made it look easy and my cat did not seem to mind. It seemed to be easier to do ...

Re: Anybody Speak French?
Mark, I took some French classes in high school (a long time ago) and can provide a more accurate translation: "I am very interested in your site, having a small female French bulldog that has been paralyzed in the rear for 2 weeks; Can you tell me if your site exists in French? Thank you in ad...

Re: Mr. Highway 170
Karen, Don't give up. You have made such progress. It cannot hurt him if you keep trying and eventually you may succeed in time. The least you might end up doing is making his last days pleasant. Don't risk taking even one good day away from him or eliminating his last chance by quitting now. You ma...

Re: Mary and Roxy
Unfortunately, I don't think that B-Kalm and other similar horse calmers that come in paste form in a tube are what you are looking for. They are intended to calm a nervous horse, not knock him out. They contain vitamins and minerals and herbs and things like L-Tryptophan and Vitamin B-1 and are adv...

I just realized the time difference. It is probalby getting dark where you are by now. Please let us know how it went. Maybe they won't clear the lot right away and you will have some more time.

Re: Need something TODAY that will knock out the Highway 170
Since he will chase your van, maybe you can drive slow and get him to chase it to another area, then leave lots of food and water there, come back there soon and frequently, and hope he relocates there.

Re: Need something TODAY that will knock out the Highway 170
If you can catch him, do you have a place to take him to or a plan as to what to do with him? He will need a secure place until he gets used to people.

Re: Need something TODAY that will knock out the Highway 170
What other types of property are nearby? You said he goes into the woods. Can you try to relocate him away from the property that is going to be cleared to a safer area? Maybe you can leave a trail of hot dog pieces or something. If you had more time, you could repeatedly lure him further each day a...

Re: Need something TODAY that will knock out the Highway 170
Or, if you or somebody has a pickup truck with a camper shell, you could back that off the road, put some food in, and leave it open, then close it quick, after he gets in. Even a van or station wagon might work, if you can rig some sort of partition between the driver's area and passenger area. Or,...
