Re: The whole Bear story(its long:)

Hi, My dog is incontinent and he wears a wrap. I just place sanitary pads inside them (you can buy good quality, name brand pads in bulk at Costco) or you can use the urinary incontinence pads people use. You can buy male wraps at Unique Accessories on the web. There is a website called Furbabyrescu...

Re: Acupuncture?

My Lhasa was born with a spinal birth defect. He's incontinent and has no bowel control but he was able to teach himself to walk. I'm excited about the possiblity of this helping him in any way, especially pain management (he now takes Rimadyl daily) as he gets older. The bladder and bowel control w...

Acupuncture?

Hi. There was a message regarding an incontinent cat and a response that a pet owner was using acupuncture on their incontinent, paralyzed cat and that it was working. Would you mind elaborating on how it's working? My vet is studying acupuncture right now and I'm hopeful this will help my incontine...

Re: what is a normal B.M. in an incontinent dog?

My 25 lb dog is incontinent and has no control over his bowels. My vet recommends a teaspoon of pumpkin and it works! Also, someone told me a trick that works too. Take a Q-tip and put vaseline on it. Slowly work it around the outside opening of the anus. Within a few minutes he usually has a bowel ...

Re: Questions About Your Lhasa's Incontinence

My Lhasa has a spinal birth defect. He can't control his bladder (he both dribbles and wets large amounts) or his bowels. He currently wears a wrap-type diaper with pads (Kotex Maxi Pads) in it during the day and nothing at night. The pads tend to cause irritation and he's recovering from a bacteria...

Re: leaving my paralized dog while on vacation

Hi - I've always taken my dog with me because he's incontinent. Can I ask all of you a question? How do you deal with the incontinence on a daily basis? Do you work and if so, where do you keep your dog? My Lhasa is 25 lbs and has no control over his urination or bowels. What kind of sleeping arrang...

Re: degerative disc disease

Unique Accessories (they have a web site) sells wonderful diapers for boy dogs and probably have something for girls, too. My vet did not recommend expressing my dog`s bladder and he nearly died from bladder stones, so I would also recommend expressing even if you find diapers that work.

Disabled Dog In Search of Vet with Experience with same.

Can anyone recommend a veterinarian in the King or Pierce County areas of Washington state that is experienced with disabled dogs? My little dog is incontinent due to a spinal birth defect and has begun experiencing problems with bladder stones. Can anyone offer ideas as to how to find such a veteri...
