Re: Dogs: Bad Smell/Cancer

Thanks to all who responded. I had considered the anal idea but am not sure. I am also considering the dead animal in the crawlspace under the house idea. Riley definitely needs a teeth cleaning but it is something we only do when absolutely necessary and he doesn't seem to be having problems eating...

Re: Help Needed: wheels for 6 week old puppy

My puppy was also born with a condition similar to spina bifida and could not walk when young. He scooted around, then hopped and now at 7 years young can run with his back legs moving independently of each other for short distances. Have faith, this may sound corny, but at my darkest moments of con...

Dogs: Bad Smell/Cancer

For the past two days I've smelled a foul smell sometimes in the area that Riley was lying two days ago. It's worst when he's been sleeping in the room but I don't smell it on his bed or in his crate. I haven't noticed a bad smell coming from him when I hold him, although my mother said that he some...

Re: Cats: Jean-Claude is at the vet

Bendy, I hope JC is well soon. I don't know much about kitties but when my asthma is bad I cough alot. When you have that stuff in you it is a good place for germs to grow and make your bodily fluids icky colors. I will say a prayer for JC and all your family and I will send a little something to he...

Re: Dogs: What Would You Do?

I wanted to let you know that I while I've been investigating the possibility of adopting a sister for Riley I was in contact with a rescue group that knows about Anna Marie's pet. When I spoke with them they told me they feel optimistic that they will be able to place her, or at least take and care...

Re: Dogs: Lets hear some miracles

The first vet I took my Lhasa puppy to (and a very highly regarded vet I might add) told me that he would never gain the ability to walk (this based on his vast experience with this type of condition). Darn if my little dog didn't start hopping. I found a new vet who said that she didn't know what w...

Hi Carol C. Can you please link me to the original post regarding your dog? I can't find it on the board. I'm sorry to hear the news and hope things get better.

Other: Pet Strollers

Awhile ago I posted a message about a Four Paws pet stroller I'd been given that was too small for my dog. A local rescue asked for it and just let me know that despite trying to solder (?) the parts together, they couldn't get the stroller strong enough to safely hold a 10 lb dog. Apparently on thi...

Re: Other: update on human crate rest

Dear Bendy, You are such a wonderful kitty. Will you please come to my house and help my kitty stop being so afraid. I think she may have a short term memory disorder from being socialized by seven children when she was young. Sometimes she acts like she doesn't know me or like I've done something b...

Re: Dogs: Dog Diapers and Messes

The motto in my house is "always look where you're walking." Small dogs leave little messes that somehow increase in size depending on how far you walked before noticing the brown foot steps all over the carpet and how late you are for work.

Re: Dogs: safety belts for dogs

I had a dog like that once too. I've found that for my more passive dog, the safety seat belt sold on this site (the bright yellow one pictured) is great and so easy, I've got it on him before he knows what happened. It's the only one that's ever worked for me.

I'm sorry Bendy. I know how much you'll miss your good friend. Just remember you'll meet again and in the meantime keep good thoughts. Love never dies.

Re: Dogs: CHINOOK Died - Devastated. Steroid warning

When my beautiful shephard died I was so devastated I wanted to die. On the third night after her death, I had a dream so real I still believe it was. I saw her at the opening of a large beautiful meadow and she looked back at me as if she was smiling and then ran off into the meadow. I know she's w...
