Re: Cats: some picts from my second outdoor adventure

Bendy Kitty, you are one magnificent little ball o' fur!!! Are you like my kitties? They seem to think that the world outside is very interesting, but on those occasions when I have taken them outside, they become "fraidy cats!"

Shadow

I am so very sorry to hear about Shadow. It's so hard to lose a beloved family member. You loved him so much that you were able to place his welfare above your needs. He is in heaven now, free of pain and whole again. I believe you WILL see him again, shoe in mouth!!!

Re: Help Needed: Love bird leg deformity

Christy: Your info is good, and more helpful than mine! I do know, though, that I read about a duck (maybe on this bb) with a chair, and Eddie's has made 'em for cats and possums. I also remember reading about someone with a tiny little pup that made their own wheelchair out of tinker toys! From the...

Re: Help Needed: Help Please

His distress may be the result of a full bladder. Your vet or a tech can express him, and they can show you how. You might also try Connie's "dab" approach. She simply dabs the end of her dog's penis with a damp cloth or baby wipe. It works for her!!!

Re: Medications: Robby

Hi Deepika! I'm so thrilled to hear that Robby is making progress!! As Cindi said, Rimadyl is a pain killer. I didn't look at the link she gave you, and I would assume the link would mention this, but just in case....prolonged use of Rimadyl can cause liver problems. A good vet will do a blood work-...

Re: Anna, could you please update us?

Hi Anna: It does get easier! People have made some really good suggestions. As Cindi said, they do raise a ruckus when you leave, but they eventually quiet down. Disabled dogs seem to do that; I expect it's because they realize they're pretty helpless without you. Someone on here made a sling by thr...

Amazing!! I'm so pleased to hear he's making progress. If I remember correctly, wasn't he scheduled to be put down because of his paralysis? What a little miracle pup!!!

Re: Help Needed: Love bird leg deformity

Checking with a vet is good advice, as well as investigating the links that were given you. If all else fails, cart manufacturers have made wheelchairs for some pretty tiny pets, and maybe they could make something that would work for the baby bird!! For that matter, perhaps you could make one. It s...

Re: Other: More on Buddha

I'm so very sorry to hear the bad news about your little baby. I agree that will all those problems, surgery probably isn't a good idea. Having said that, though, I would investigate holistic medicine and acupuncture to try and keep him as healthy and pain-free for as long as possible. I think I wou...

Re: UPDATE - Our Visit to the Neurologist TodayRe: Help Need

It's so hard to see our precious babies deteriorate, isn't it? I lost my sweet little Sparkle a year ago this past June at age 18. After awhile, it just seems they will always be there. When I get to heaven (or IF), I'm going to tell God He really messed up; pets should live as long as their humans!...

Re: Help Needed: info on heat strokes

Jaque: I hope the pup continues to improve, but even if he doesn't, dogs don't have to be euthanized because they have problems walking. Many of us on this bb have dogs in that situation. There are many alternatives. Some have improved over time, some with acupuncture. Some people use walking suppor...

Re: Help Needed: Need help for Buddha

What a sweet little face!! I'm going to post a few links I have saved from this site. I'm not sure the list is complete, but it gives you a place to start. You might also check with Boston Terrier groups to see if they could help. Here are links to sources of financial aid. One is a loan, the others...
