Re: pressure sores from carts and dog nappies

With Pete I used a good quality diaper rash ointment. Make sure you wash him with soap and water and the rinse with each change. Pat dry and apply ointment. Worked great for almost 10 years.

Re: new here....any advice welcomed

No matter what some people think I am glad that you found it a rewarding experience, do not regret it and would do it again. I know the end is hard but you have 4 years of memories to love and cherish.

Re: Probiotics?

Pete was on probiotics and digestive enzymes for years. Found for the most part Dr. Mercolas animal based enzymes worked and did not break the bank. Were able to cut out probiotics. Digestive enzymes were powder sprinkled on food. We just ordered on line. It was amazing the difference in stools and ...

Re: Group for Wheelchair Dog Agility

It has taken me 10 months to be able to come back on line but here I am. Pete was in wheels for almost 10 years when he passed on. The best thing I found was buying the rubber shelf liner (the thicker works best) cutting it in strips and then tape it to his front feet with hockey tape. I would put i...

I know if you can make it work you will. If not I know you will find her a good home as an only child. It is always good to hear from you.

Re: Look who came for Christmas

hopefully it will just be a matter of time. She may not like to share her mom. Pete and Darth get into battles every now and then but never any injuries just a lot of noise. Pete is still Pete older but still just as trying.

Re: Look who came for Christmas

Carol it looks like she feels right at home. She is so lucky to be in the right place at the right time. If no one has come forward by now I would say she is a very lucky girl. There would not be a more carring and knowledgable person to take her in to her home.

Re: New here (elderly bowel incontinent dog)

Hi everyone. Pete has had this problem and every other one. The best thing I found was digestive enzymes. Animal based not plant based works best. Good luck.

Re: UTI Returning While on Cipro?!!!

Hi guys. I hope everyone is well. It was 8 years ago yesterday that Pete was paralyzed. As most of you know pete has had an ongoing battle with UTI. The best maintance I have found is every morning he gets a tablespoon of pure apple cider vinegar(with mother) mixed with some yogourt.

Re: Restless leg question

Pete has been paralized for over 7 years and still gets restless legs at night. It was about 16 months after his accident when it started to happen. At first he would look down at his legs then look at me and move away as if I had done something. It would wake him up he would kick so hard but now he...

Re: Liz is now leaking poop

When Pete gets the runs I take him off all his food for a day or two and just give him white rice and pure pumpkin. Both of these are easy for him to digest and easy on the bowels. You may want to look into digestive enzymes for his food. They just help him digest his food.

Re: life span question

Hi Carol. NIce you remember Pete. Pete used to get UTIs as you say about once a year. I started giving Pete oil of oregeno and have not had a UTI in almost 3 years. He is 15 and slowing down but I think may dogs at his age start to slow down. Pete has advanced at the rate of most dogs I think. Being...
