Re: Babee shih tzu paralyzed
That is grat news, i know how you feel the first time Jasmine wagged her tail after her injury i was so happy i started crying. It was one the best things i ever saw she use to wag her tail so much and so fast her whole butt would wiggle and that was one of the things i was missing seeing most of al...

Re: paralyzed shih tzu
Maxwell's Mom I know how you feel, I am fairly new to this two back on April 17th my 4 year old cocker spaniel went down and has not been able to walk since. We did do the surgery but we used up everything in savings to do it. And since then the cost keeps adding up from vet visits to pee pads and P...

Re: paralyzed shih tzu
Good Evening, I agree with Carol it is never to late, I would give it a try it can't hurt her. We waited about 6 weeks before we started any type of therapy or treatment away from home, just because i did not want to move Jasmine and put her in a car for an hour and half each way. Just keep working ...

Re: IVDD recovery questions
Smithpk 85 Thank you for your reply, No we have not looked in to a cart yet our vet had said if you we got one to soon she thought Jasmine would give up trying to use the back legs, but I never though about it as a way of rehab I will have to look into it. I saw that you noted you use a bottoms up l...

I did forget to tell you when you use the vetrap make sure it is not to tight. I put one of my figures in between her paw and the vetrap to make sure it is not to tight yo...

Re: PT questions
Carol Thank you so much for you advice. That gives me some new ideas to work with. She has always been a very active dog she loves to shadow me around the apartment. So I know this has to be hard on her. She does pull herself along and will walk with a towel under her back legs but i know it is not ...

Re: wheels for Babee
Hi Carmen I feel the same way Diane does, it sounds like Babee is showing some signs to being on the right road to recovery and you don't want to spend the money on wheels that she may not need. I also though about getting Jasmine wheels because one vet told me that it does help with rehab. But than...

Re: paralyzed shih tzu
It sounds like your doing a great job with her. I would not worry unless the color or there is an odor. Through all of this I feel like the expressing part is the hardest and the most stressful for me. I don't want to push to hard or leave her go for to long without expressing her and then I don't w...

Re: paralyzed shih tzu
I don't think you are doing anything wrong, and don't feel like it is taking you a long time to get use to doing. I am not always lucky getting it however my husband gets it every try. I think it is because I am not push ahrd enough becasue I am worried of hurting her. I would think that she is just...

Re: paralyzed shih tzu
Yes she is a cocker spaniel, her name is Jasmine. We normally express her 3 to 4 times a day about every 7 to 8 hours. However she can go alnight without leaking. And one day a work my husband has to go to the office so it's more like 11 to 12 hours she goes without be expressed. Her vet has told me...

Re: paralyzed shih tzu
You could try Dr Forster and Smith online, they sell all kinds of dog supplies at all different price ranges. When my dog first came home after surgery we just used people clippers on her that my husband had from being in the military and I think we got them at Target. And when the time comes and yo...
