My dog does that sometimes, she will curl her toes around my thumb. Her new therapist told me that it is a good sign it means it feels good to her which means she has some feeling.

From what I have read and was told by my vet, the laser therapy alleviates and pain and siffness which helps them move better. It runs around $40 a session with our vet. Jasmine had to do it for three weeks straight, it was 3 times the first week and 2 times the next week and then once the last week...

They showed us the fingertip method. Her neurologist however told us to put her in a standing postion and express her that way but she was getting all over her, they showed us by laying her on her side on a puppy training pad and now she does not get it on herself.
