Like you, I had never heard of this stuff. Here's an interesting article that discusses the dosage for dogs and cats:

I've never seen this product on store shelves. Maybe one of those health food places sells it?

Re: Getting Over Jasper

My heart aches for you, and while I don't have many words of wisdom to offer, please know that your grief will subside over time. I have a similar story as yours, and it took a long, long time to come to terms with our grief and guilt. Rest assured, with each month that passed, the rawness subsided ...

Would you be willing to share a picture of your harnass... It looks like this one, except in black. For the padding, I used fleece since I already had a remnant of that sitting around. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/images/B0011E9NDE/sr=8-1/qid=1262051942/ref=dp_image_text_0?ie=UTF8&n=1055398...

Re: Hello - Just an intro

OK, so I made my own version of the "Bottom's Up Leash" for a less than 5 bucks and about hour of my time. (I made it since it would've been nearly 50 bucks after including taxes, shipping and duty to Canada. What a crime!) http://www.amazon.com/Petmate-Bottoms-Leash-Osfa-Red/dp/B0011E9NDE...

Re: Hello - Just an intro

Dianne linked some great PT in the paralysis forum as well. Thanks for that. I recently discovered this article which describes exactly what we're observing in Zeusy: http://vetmedicine.about.com/od/caninehealthdogs/a/VVP_degenmyel2.htm Of course, without a proper diagnosis, we can't be certain tha...

Re: Ladybugs legs...video included

My 13yo Rottis hind legs are similar. They are very weak, he falls over easily, and they tend to splay apart. It's difficult to watch, but, quite honestly, he doesn't seem to care.

Hello - Just an intro

Hello, I just found this place and already learned how to help my aged Rotti have a bowel movement on demand, so thanks for that. In any case, this old boy of ours is finding it increasingly difficult to stand up and use his hind legs due to age related arthritis and weakness. Like many of you, we'r...

Re: Poop everywhere-not ok! Diapers for POOP??

Hi there, Glad I found you folks and specifically this thread. I just wanted to post that the Q-tip method works like a dream! :D I've just used this technique on our 13 year old Rotti and I was able to get him to poop when and where I wanted. As outlined, I simply inserted the Q-tip into the rectum...
