Hi! This is mumpkees - mother over the years to many many CH furkids and other mobility challenged furkids. You've got a couple of things going on here. You have a little one who has mobility issues - balance being the first one. He also is only 12 weeks old. Normal kittens don't gain total control...

As I was reading your reply (thank you, by the way) Trogdor pooped on our carpet again. He never poops in the same spot, which is why i'm at a loss. I can't put papers down in one spot... He knows where his litter box is... He went and laid down in his box as soon as he went poop on our carpet.
