Re: death of my blue and gold macaw
Hi Linda I am sorry I have just got notification of your message. Firstly, my sympathy to you and your husband on the loss of Gertie :( Yes, they do drive us crazy with their screaming but it's a sadder world without it. I would say, a heart attack is the most likely cause of her Passing. Domestic B...

Re: What to do when gone all day?
Hi Jean Thanks for the reply, My Girl's Kidneys are good. Duchess is 12 years old and been a down Dog for 2 years. She alternates between 2 antibiotics and they work BUT the last 2 infections have been close together so it appears the last dose of Meds. before this one didn't clear the infection com...

Re: What to do when gone all day?
Hi Carol has given you so much useful information so can only add that each time my Girl has a UTI, 3 since September, she leaks Urine more or less all the time. Antibiotics deal with the issue and she's back to being Dry until expressed. She can go all night without leaking and up to 6 hours during...

Re: 8 weeks old puppy with neurological problems
Zoey is adorable and no wonder you want to give her as good a life as possible for a Down Dog. I am nearly 2 years into looking after a paralysed Pug and really have it all sorted now, the first weeks/months are a learning curve, to say the least. I'll have a look at the Viedeos:) I wish you every s...

Re: My Worst Nightmare
Hi Ricky My Pug had recurrent UTI's and appeared better with antibiotics but would relapse. An X Ray showed bladder stones and a Urine Analysis showed crystals. She has been having Hill's Crystal Diet and Bladder Stone Diet for a couple of months and so far no more infections. Maybe the Sonogram wil...

Re: Intro: Bubby's Journey
You could try a raw food diet? There's plenty of info. on the Net, it's also supposed to help prevent UTI's and Stones, I will consider this for Duchess once the stones are dissolved. More work I guess but whatever it takes... I also use a gel hand sanitizer and rub some into her fur, Duchess being ...

Re: Vet Suggests Euthinizing, Any Other Options Out There?
Hi Deentonyo You've had so much good advice and really hope you feel confident to care for your Rudy once he gets home, which I am sure he will. My Vet had the same attitude as you so I found this group and got myself educated and look after my 11 year old paralysed Duchess with ease. Everything I d...

Re: Are there any alternatives to a ramp
For the non slip part you could visit a Boat Chandler's or find one online, they sell very non slip fabric for boats which is used where anything is liable to slide in heavy seas?
