Re: I need advice on dog peeing while she's sleeping

As Chris says I would take her to the vet to check that there is no underlying cause. If she has been spayed it may be what is known as spay incontinence, which occurs in some bitches. This site explains a homeopathic remedy for incontinence that was successful in a greyhound with a similar problem:...

about the pressure sores...

Peggy, a good alternative cure for pressure sores is honey, but you will still need to find a way of keeping him off the sore. Perhaps you could pad the bottom and sides of a crate with thick, mattress-type foam in such a way that he can only rest without placing pressure on it? For people there are...

Carts for cats

Hi Linda: If she is still just a kitten, you might want to try making one for the time being. I'm sure Bendy and his mom have some experience here and hopefully will post. Your vet may also be able to help you. Here are some links about homemade carts, not sure whether all are suitable for cats thou...

Re: kitty

Hi Linda I have answered your message about carts down below. But first I recommend you get her to the vet as soon as possible, if she still has movement in her toes there is a possibility you can get her walking again but she will need an x-ray and medication for that...the medication is more effec...

Plus...

I have looked further and found two things: 1) you were right when you said it was rare, I found an article that said there had only been 20 known cases in the US and Canada, it was a few years old, but even so... I also found a US vet who seems to be a specialist in storage disorders and I have wri...

Re: Marina, try these people!

Marina, sorry I have only just seen your message. My, I imagined it might be expensive, but not that expensive! It's 40,000 US dollars! How can they have done tests on cats at that kind of price?? At least you are lucky that you have a vet who is clearly putting in some considerable effort to help B...

Yes please! msg..

That's kind, thanks. I'm doing a website in Spanish to help people with handicapped/chronically ill pets and I am including all the links for cart/ wheelchair manufacturers I can find plus agents in Europe if they have one. Many people here don't even know that carts/wheelchairs for pets exist! For ...

Thanks, but I still can't get it to open...

It starts downloading and gets stuck somewhere. I don't have any problems with other websites generally, either it's my PC or maybe there's a problem accessing it from this far away!!

Thanks anyway

Links for GERMAN SHEPARD MYELOPATHY

Sorry, I only have a couple of links on deg. myelopathy and haven't yet studied them in depth so I can't actually recommend them. I will have a look around later tonight to see if I can find anything else: The first is by Clemmons and is very detailed. The second is from the SE Pennsylvania G. Sheph...

Re: Interesting arguments.

I imagine there are many like yours who function perfectly with the scapula intact. I'm not sure whether the animal's size might be a factor? I think probably the major factor is whether the cancer might spread that far, which is something only a specialist can try and determine. To be honest, I was...

Re: fibrosacroma

Hi Laura, The dog I mentioned belongs to a friend of mine. He has no shoulder blade, but we do not know why his leg was amputated as she adopted him that way when he was 2 years old from the dog pound and was going to be put to sleep. I have been looking at the difference between amputating with sca...

A couple more links

Sorry, I was looking around for info on this and didn't note down all the links just gave my general opinion (see below) It is very hot here and it makes me lazy!! Many of the sites dealing with amputation are on osteosarcoma rather than fibrosarcoma, I am not too sure what the implications are ther...

Re: Another possibility?

If she was just six weeks old when you had her, I would have thought any habits she had from then could be broken. I would try all the different types of cat litter available to see if any of them tempt her. You also have to get the balance right between maybe leaving some of her "doings" ...

Another possibility?

My first thoughts were the same as Bendy's. The only other thing that occurs to me is whether Scout may have been an outdoor cat before the operation and be used to using soil or sand or even grass? Might be something else to try out if there's a possibility he was an outdoor cat or had access to a ...
