Re: At least he has a home. I have a Zithromax candidate, to

This one is chronic too!! Her eyes have improved and she started eating on her own last night, but the noise she makes is terrible!! I keep thinking she will stop breathing. But she also played for the first time today, and I think she must have doubled in weight since I found her on Sunday (she was...

No I'm not, just struck lucky!

I just put "animal amputees" into Google and it came up first, second and third.

Shame, I would have liked to have been a genius!

Was it CP7?

Bendy, do you mean CP7? The drug for dogs with paralysis?
If so, here is the link, you have to write to Dr. Khouri for samples:

Re: Cat with mucopolysaccharidosis type 6

Sorry, Marina, I have only just seen your message. I am glad that Betty seems a little better, and I hope that the enzyme therapy might offer a chance to see some further improvement. I need to reorganise my links! I have several to cats with paralysis but they are scattered and mixed up with lots o...

Re: my poor sick kitty

I'm so sorry Cathleen, I too, had high hopes for her recovery. I know you are very sad to lose her, but when you get down, do remember that you gave Noelle the gift of 12 happy years that she would never have had if you hadn't taken her in. That is a big gift to give. I hope you can take comfort in ...

Re: my poor sick kitty

Cathleen, don't lose hope! If she has feeling and movement in her back legs it's a very good sign, but it might take days, weeks, in some cases even months before she finishes recovering. Sometimes after this type of injury, cats may need a little extra help for pooping, normally just to start them ...

Deafblind kitten

I've probably got a deafblind kitten coming in early next week, between 1-2 months old. Unless an adoptive family turns up (unlikely, Spain being what it is) they are going to put him to sleep. I worked for some time with deafblind children and adults, so have had some insight into their "world...

Re: Cat with mucopolysaccharidosis type 6

Hi Marina As Critters says, there are a few people around the board with paralysed kitties and a few websites that deal with cats with rear leg paralysis. If you can't find any let me know and I will send you some links. I found an article that suggests a couple of therapies for Mps VI, one is "...

Re: Baycox...wow.

Hi Bendy, I think the Baycox must be a similar type of thing to Appertex cos their component names sound similar (clazuril and toltrazuril or something unpronounceable!) Anyway, I had the same reaction as you, after days of fighting to dose all my cats with Albon and them spitting out the tablets an...

Re: kitten with deformed or bent wrists..

Bendy and his mom are experts in this area and will be able to help you lots. I'm sure they will post soon and give you some good advice. I think whilst kittens are young treatment may be possible without surgery, I have straightened a puppy's legs with braces but never had cats with this problem. P...

Alisa, we both had the same thought! I meant to add the link to my first message.

Re: Still improving...

Thanks for the names. I can't use Miracle because in Spanish "Milagros" is a girl's name. I do like Phoenix (and will keep it in reserve) and Feisty would be very appropriate, because that's what he is, but I had another idea. I have asked Giovanna if I can name him Jack, in memory/honour ...

Re: Still improving...

This little guy is incredible. He just seems to be improving in leaps and bounds. I can't believe it's the same kitten! He is definitely following me more with his eyes today (I move my hand around and he follows it, yesterday he didn't) and he has now discovered the little fluffy mice. He can defin...

I¦ll bear it in mind...

I'm definitely not ruling anything out at the moment, I still think he may have had a problem with a car so you could well be right. But he has had no more medication since that horrendous seizure on Friday night and today he looks almost like a normal healthy kitten (if you don't look at his shape ...
