You may want to consider visiting a veterinary neurologist. Over the last year I've become more of a fan of veterinary hospitals, and vet practices in the habit of doing referrals to veterinary hospitals, so that you get referred to internal and neurological specialists as needed. You may have already done this, but if not... I'd suggest contacting the veterinary hospitals in your area to see which one has an on-site physical therapist. While they can't diagnose root cause of problems, then do provide the vets with information about what is currently happening with the muscle...
