> doesn't mean they aren't out there Quite. Mice and voles are closely related, so if it's in voles, then it's just got to be in mice too. > Also, did you read about the cardiovascular effects? I have now. thank you. It's a good thing to know about, given that re-infections are fairly common. > are ...

Re: Cat won't eat, listless, but Vet can't find anything wrong; blood?
Apparently mice don't naturally get Covid, they have to genetically modify the mice to use them for studies. So that's out. Hissing/spitting: hm, hadn't thought of that, only of blood-to-blood, but of course! - air-borne transmission (duh). /Highly/ likely, they pace up and down either side of the f...

Re: Cat won't eat, listless, but Vet can't find anything wrong; blood?
> How do you think he was exposed? Yes, I've been wondering that too. afaik, no other cats have been in the garden recently - they can get in, but they can't get out, and they've learned it's a one-way street. My neighbours have a cat, and he and Euclid have a long-standing war going on, but the fen...

Re: Cat won't eat, listless, but Vet can't find anything wrong; blood?
I did a lot of trawling re Covid symptoms in cats. Just like in people, they can present completely differently. For eg, I had no temperature, no stomach upsets, only an annoying cough when I tried to speak - but not at any other time. And I had zero strength, had to rest halfway up the garden to th...

Re: Cat won't eat, listless, but Vet can't find anything wrong; blood?
I've spent the last week alternating between saying "goodbye" n million times, only to oscillate to "yay! you're gonna be okay!"... and then back again. I took him to my usual Vet, only to be told pretty much the same thing: dunno, maybe onset of kidney disease.... old cat... mum...

Re: Cat won't eat, listless, but Vet can't find anything wrong; blood?
Quick update: Euclid and I eventually folded around 6am. We got up late at ~1pm, he ate a tiny breakfast, and then asked to be let out - which is very different from what I've been seeing. I don't know if it's the result of some food last night, but he's definitely walking a bit more perkily, not th...

Re: Cat won't eat, listless, but Vet can't find anything wrong; blood?
Hi, I've been looking up the things you posted as you posted them, and trying to get a picture of what's going on. Potassium, BUN, GGT levels could be attributed to not eating much. Albumin: low level is a symptom of something else going on (malnutrition, infection, kidneys). Globulin (contains anti...

Bless your cotton socks, CarolC, and thank you. It's great to see you too, wish it wasn't such an occasion. I threw all my rules in the bin on Monday and bought an organic chicken and salmon (picky £$%&* won't eat supermarket chicken!). I've been hand-feeding him teeny bits (about half the size ...

Cat won't eat, listless, but Vet can't find anything wrong; blood?
Hallo, On Fri.May.27, my 12-yr old Maine Coon boy started behaving very oddly. Over the course of a couple of days, he went from a bouncy know-it-all to a listless, apathetic shadow of his former self. He spends all day and night curled up in a ball. He isn't interested in food, which normally he wo...

Dear All,
We buried Raz this afternoon.
He had a 6.5cm dia. abdominal tumour, plus other complications. None of it was related to his tail trauma.
He will be sorely missed. He was a really, really cool cat. He would have been four this June.

Eczema solution
I am posting this in the hope that it might be of help to others. One of my cats Euclid has had a recurring eczema problems for the last few years, and despite numerous tests (blood, biopsies, skin scrapings, urine+stool, allergy tests, etc.) the Vets never found a cause. It would start as scabs at ...

Hey CarolC, that's really amazing news. You know, I don't really have an objective view on the usefulness (or otherwise) of Raz's "diary", so it's really nice to get positive feedback.
I trust all goes well with you and yours?
Best wishes,
Donna

Re: Cat: broken pelvis+tail, eating+pee+poo problems, I'm sc
A year+ later: I guess I owe many people an apology for having disappeared. In Oct. 2011 my mother (who lives in Phoenix, Arizona) was diagnosed with small-cell lung cancer. She chose to go through the whole Radiology/Chemical thing, despite the doctors warning her that her chances were "extrem...
