Re: Question about swimming
That's true. I guess I would be more concerned about the sand, especially since it always seems to get into all kinds of crazy places! Maybe she'll just have to go without...

Re: Question about swimming
Yeah, it's salt water, which is why I am unsure. She's been swimming in fresh water lakes/rivers since being incontinent without any problems. But not sure if the salt would get up there and cause an issue.

Question about swimming
I'm not sure if this is an appropriate place to ask this, but I can't find any good info online. Maggie used to love going to the beach. Since her accident, we haven't taken her though because we've been worried about possible infection. Does anyone have experience taking their incontinent (female) ...

Re: I just need some hope/help
I agree. Incontinence can seem overwhelming at first, but it does get easier. Once our dog was recovered and off of all the steroids and meds, it all became exponentially easier. And now that we have our routine, it's no problem at all. Our Maggie went in to surgery with dps, came out with dps, but ...

damage from expressing?
Does anyone know if it's possible to cause damage to a dog's internal organs from too much pressure? When we express Maggie's bladder, we are also able to apply enough pressure to her abdomen that her stools come out at the same time, which makes it nice for having less accidents. After coming off a...

Anyone w/ paralyzed dog near Raleigh, NC
Did some research on clinical trials after reading about the one @ Cambridge. Found one at NCSU currently looking for patients. Not sure if this has been posted here in the past as I think they started earlier this year? Sorry if it's a double post. http://www.cvm.ncsu.edu/vhc/tc/clinical_services/n...

Re: Diaper irritation
I've been putting the diapers on in such a way that the straps come from under her belly and wrap around to attach over her back, which I think is backwards? I hope that makes sense. I'll have to give that a try! Thank you!

Re: Pippa recovering from spinal disc surgery
Did you put the elastic on Pippa once she had a little feeling back or was that when she was still had no feeling? We certainly do our best to spoil Maggie! She's definitely our baby and we are willing to do anything and everything we can for her. She is still a very happy pup... although I notice i...

Diaper irritation
Does anyone else have a problem with diaper irritation on their pets? Maggie is experiencing some irritation on her inner thigh area where the diaper strap comes around. It's almost like maybe it's pinching her too much and causing it to itch? I'm not sure. But I see her biting at it and now it's st...

Re: Pippa recovering from spinal disc surgery
We went through something very similar with our 5 year old cocker spaniel, Maggie. In April she suddenly yelped out in pain and she couldn't stand on her back legs anymore. We rushed her to the ER where they diagnosed her with a herniated disc and she was still able to walk until the next day. She h...

Re: New discovery
I feel like my dog's stools have been harder to move lately and I don't want to hurt her. Where is the spot that you massage? I'd love to give it a try!
