Re: is it hyperthryoidism??
Hi, My 15 year old Vizsla Ches has just had a full blood panel because of continual panting and halting gait. He is very much a senior citizen and gets "lost" in our fenced yard. The vet put him on Science Diet Brain Diet dog food and a pain pill, derramax. The vet called on Friday afterno...

Re: What pad to put in a male wrap
Hello, I used regular cotton baby diapers, folded to look like a kotex pad and kept them on with a male wrap. Worked like a charm. Had to have a diaper pail and do the laundry often but it was much cheaper than disposable pads and Simon did not try to eat them. Often dogs will try to devour their di...

Re: Cart donation/rental page
Thanks, all, for your help. I emailed Mark and hope we can get something worked out.
I miss Simon so much. I hope his cart can go to someone who will be able to use it well and longer than we did.

Re: Help Needed: Severed spinal cord, need urgent advice pls
Debbie, Bless you and your volunteers! I'm no expert but it sounds like the dog has some sensation and is a fighter. I'd give him a chance to heal with the help you have and try some homeopathic support, i.e., Backbone ( a Chinese herb) or hypericum, or other musularskeletle support supplements. I t...

Dogs: Simon's Cart
Hi All, I have been contacted by a few people who can make use of Simon's cart. They got this referral to me from Eddies. Is there a way I can donate the cart to Handicapped Pets and get a tax deduction for it? Then, I can just have the new cart owner pay the shipping and send it out. Please let me ...

Re: Help Needed: need
Check with Eddie's Wheels. I gave them permission to find someone who can use my Simon's wheels if they fit. Good luck!

Re: Help Needed: doggie diapers
I found that regular cotton baby diapers covered with a male wrap stayed on my paralyed dachshund very well. The disposables were a problem. when wet, he ate them!
Good luck!

Re: Other: Simon- Test results
Hi Carol C,
I just received Simon's test results and there's a lot there. I'm not sure where to begin.
Would you like me to send it to you in a personal e-mail? I think it might be too much for the general readership of the board.
Thanks for your kind thoughts. I'm still deeply in grief.

Re: Help Needed: From all of you who are grieving also
Hi Kathy, I can totally understand your grief. I'm Simon's mom and he died on Saturday morning. I'm totally devastated. But I am eating and exercising evryday. Working hard in my garden. Caring for two other 15 year old dogs and a disabled spouse. And, crying a lot. I have found one book to be of he...

Re: Other: Simon- Thanks
Dear Dianne, Karen, Carol C, Margarita, Jean, Thank you all for your expressions of sympathy and for your many, many kindnesses over the past nine months. I did not know that Simon was ill until Saturday morning at 4:20 a.m. when he woke me with his cries. His tongue was hanging out and he was panti...
