Re: urethra and intestine connected possibly?
Wow. that is uncommon. You get a lot of strange abnormalities in these cats, usually things like no anus at all, or one that has no tone, but this is a new one for me. The one issue that jumps out to me is that this opens the possibility of fecal contamination in the urethra, which is a huge risk fo...

Re: Front legs
Hello CatGuy! Please please please give us more info on these kittens. I am in NC and know various people in rescue. If you can describe the kittens as in, are they eating on their own? Do they have any obvious deformities? can they walk? are they dragging their back legs? Do their heads/faces look ...

Happy purrday Bendy
Today is the Late Great Bendy Cute Kitty's birthday. He would have been 21. I used to tell him that I needed him to get to 30 but instead he had to leave at 11. Thanks to this tiny mite of a kitten I was launched into handicapped pet care, coming here with just a few others to try and figure things ...

Re: Cat suddenly can't walk
Wow that kitty most certainly had a rough start, and unfortunatley may not be able to make up for such a nutrient deficient kittenhood. That doesn't mean she can't improve some though. I'm glad to hear she is eating Royal Canin, when you say Soup do you mean the "chicken soup for the soul"...

Re: CH and deaf kitten pooping on himself
Diarrhea in a kitten is always a concern in my book. they can dehydrate quickly. My vet has often told me that most vets don't see many tiny kittens, they are used to older kittens, who aren't as fragile. Little kittens don't have time to wait to see "what if" thing s straighten out. at 6 ...

Re: FECAL INCONTINENT KITTEN
some breeders are actually quite savvy about cat health, the really serious show breeders are. anyway. I would start with a quarter tsp of miralax twice a day and see what that gets you. It's the kind of thing that is different for every cat, and will change as the cat's gut changes. This gut manage...

Re: FECAL INCONTINENT KITTEN
Hello and welcome! I have three manx syndrome kitties and, no, there is no surgery. It is a good idea, when they are a few months old, to get x-rays so you know what you are dealing with. Two of mine have deformed, off set sacrums, and one has a deformed pelvis and small kidney. These guys often hav...

Re: 1 day post back leg amputated
I've had many cats undergo single and double amputations. What kind of pain medication was he given for his recovery? He definitely needs it. Usually my vets would give a few days of buprinex (narcotic) and onsior (anti-inflammatory that is easy on the kidneys so safer for cats). With some surgeries...

Re: Wrapping leg stump on kitten?
I was thinking of using the soft flooring and not wrapping the stump, actually. keeping him confined to a smaller area with soft flooring without wrapping would hopefully work ok. My amputees with similar stumps didn't have wraps because it seemed near impossible.

Re: Wrapping leg stump on kitten?
Hello! I took in two kittens last year with lil stumps like that. Their stumps wre from a traumatic birth defect and never quite healed. What I did was set up a lil kitty playland in a giant rabbit cage that had padded surfaces, so they could play but there was padding for their stumps. If it is to ...
