Re: Newly Paralyzed Bichon

Skipper sometimes does the same, she asks to go out, but we're pretty sure she has no idea when she needs to go. It's been 4 years and she still acts so nervous if she has an accident in the house (and we NEVER scold her, ever ever). Once you all find a method that works, it'll be no time before it'...

Re: Newly Injured Pet Mom

I remember the night my little Skipper lost the use of her back legs. I cried and held her all night long. The next day i started research and found this site. I went through the five stages of grief in about 4 hours. I've had friends and family ask if we would remove her back legs (ummmm what?!) or...

Is recovery possible?

Our dog Skipper, 5yr old Red Heeler, became paralyzed on Nov 5 2012. She has been showing signs of improvement over the last year and few months. She occasionally will pull herself into standing to drink water or eat, she "pushes" with her back legs when scooting on the floor (although it'...

Re: Stuff I learned along the way

THANK YOU! This was great to read. We are only at day 10 right now for our dog, Skipper, and her paralysis. It was an incredibly quick decline and we got more information just googling her condition and me joining this community. Your post made me feel better about what we're doing. Also, I agree ab...
