Megacolon/Blood in urine/multiple issues!
Hi I adopted a kitty with hind limb paralysis about 2 years ago. Since day 1, it was evident that he had constipation issues, although he is fully continent and uses a flat tray. Ben has suspected Megacolon and had to be de-obstipated 3 times so far. I am trying to manage this condition with lactulo...

Re: Introducing Ben (various medical issues)
Hi everyone. I am pleased to report that (fingers and paws crossed) Ben's poop issues have been sorted out :) He had to be de-obstipated 3 times in total He is now on a regime of sunflower oil with every meal of wet food, a sprinkling of Miralax granules, a sprinkling of Peridale Granules and a bit ...

Re: Introducing Ben (various medical issues)
hi and thank you both for responding. Just a brief update for now but I am growing increasingly concerned about Ben. This morning, just 3 days after having an enema, he was straining really hard to poop again. He was very miserable and his tummy was very bloated. Crying a lot, particularly if you to...

Introducing Ben (various medical issues)
Hi I am fostering a gorgeous kitty from Egypt, called Ben. Ben arrived in the UK last week and has been with me since late Saturday night. He was found as a kitten just a couple of months old, with hind limb paralysis. It can only be assumed that he had met with some kind of trauma or accident. When...

Re: Cat with hind limb paralysis needs a home
He so needs an experienced Mommy who will love him forever and do their best by him. It's so sad that he was owned I believe and then since his accident, the owners no longer wanted him I could never give up on my kids.

Re: Cat with hind limb paralysis needs a home
Leah, this is a post from Facebook "This is a special appeal for anyone who can open their heart and homes to a paralysed cat. This poor cat fell from a balcony and will not regain any feeling in his rear end. He is also incontinent so will need a very special home with an understanding owner w...

Re: Cat with hind limb paralysis needs a home
Hi Leah My understanding is (I'm just crossposting, special needs cats are my passion) that this poor boy fell from a 3rd floor balcony or fell 3 floors from a balcony, leaving him with hind limb paralysis and the need to have his bladder expressed. I would imagine the owners no longer want him and ...

Diagnosis?
Hi all. I've been on here a few times and have found everyone to be very kind, practical and helpful. One of my special needs pets is a cat I adopted from Romania - Liza. Before Liza came to me, I saw some footage of her where she could just about walk but it was very disjointed. By the time she cam...

URGENT advice needed for cat with wounds/sores
Hi I guess i could have posted this in the incontinence section but it is pretty urgent in that we don't want things to deteriorate any further. This concerns a cat with hind limb paralysis in Bosnia. She was rescued and is being taken care of by the rescuer who loves her to bits. The kitty is being...

I can't believe I'm here again,Luna has been through so much already. To cut a long story short,Luna was adopted with hind limb paralysis,I've had her for just over 18 months and has just gone 2 years old. She's already been hospitalised a few times with dehydration and water infections, then her ta...

Re: Incontinent cat with really runny stools :(
Thanks both :) I thought a minor miracle had occurred when I got home last night; Luna's nappy was off and the laminate wasn't crayoned with poop! The abandoned diaper had some poop in it but it was firmer (I wouldn't say it was firm though but definitely more 'formed') than it has been for a while....

He must've had some other health issues which weren't apparent. RIP beautiful boy.xxx This beautiful boy has been rescued...
